Meet Lakota — Our Calm, Confident Teddy Bear 🧸Lakota is a breathtaking 4-year-old, 82-pound Akita mix with a magnificent fluffy coat and an impressive presence. But what really makes this beautiful girl stand out isn't her looks — it's her wonderfully calm, gentle personality.Lakota has spent the past several months in foster care while completing treatment for heartworm, giving us a chance to learn what she's really like in a home. Her foster describes her as a “sweet, gentle giant” who is always ready with a friendly tail wag and a kiss. She's calm and quiet, affectionate with her people and, despite that impressive Akita exterior, basically one big teddy bear. Lakota is extremely well house trained and has excellent manners in the home. She enjoys walks around the block and is perfectly content to stop and simply watch the world go by. She's good with children and has the kind of steady, easygoing presence that makes her a lovely companion. Lakota does need to be the only dog in her home. She'd be a wonderful match for someone looking for one special dog to be their companion and enjoy walks, quiet time and plenty of affection together.Best of all, Lakota has now successfully completed her heartworm treatment and is ready to put that chapter behind her. After months in foster care, this beautiful girl is ready for the next chapter — a forever home of her own. Meet Romi! 🐾 Romi is a 6-year-old male Chow Chow looking for a loving new home where he can live the life he deserves. He is an independent and protective boy who enjoys relaxing around the house, going on walks, and, of course, getting treats! Romi is house-trained and does well with other dogs. He can take a little time to warm up to new people and feels most comfortable once he has had the chance to get to know you, so a patient home would be ideal for him. I’m unsure how he would do with other animals and children, so I would recommend introducing him slowly and carefully to make sure everyone is comfortable. I’m rehoming Romi because I recently started a new job and will need to move, and unfortunately I’m no longer able to provide him with the time, space, and lifestyle he deserves. This is a very difficult decision, and my biggest priority is finding Romi a safe, loving, and responsible home where he can be happy and well cared for.
