He’s playful, adventurous, affectionate, and always ready to make new friends. But behind that beautiful face is a story that deserves to be told. 🐾 His Story — Forgotten, But Never Giving Up Apollo was found living in a city park along the Texas/Mexico border. He had been there for at least six months, and some people believed he had been surviving there for more than a year. This wasn't some quiet, forgotten corner of town. It was a busy park where families gathered and games were played every weekend. People came and went, yet this poor boy was left to fend for himself, surviving by digging through the garbage people left behind. Can you imagine being so close to people every day and still having no one step up to give you a home? Thankfully, Apollo was finally taken in at the beginning of October 2026. His days of searching for scraps and surviving on his own are behind him. Now, this beautiful boy is ready to find the family who will make sure he is never forgotten again. 🤍 🐶 His Personality — Friendly, Fun, and Full of Life! Apollo is a happy, outgoing boy who loves being around people and other dogs. He has lived in a busy park surrounded by children and families, and he has been friendly with the people he has encountered. He absolutely LOVES other dogs of all sizes and enjoys running, playing, and exploring alongside his furry friends. He has also been cat-tested and simply ignores the cats! Apollo is an explorer at heart. He loves roaming around the property, checking everything out, and making sure he doesn't miss a thing. He has that wonderful Husky curiosity and adventurous spirit that makes every day an opportunity for something new. And when it's time to settle down? This clever boy knows his routine! When told to go into his crate, Apollo happily goes in and lies down. He is crate-trained and travels beautifully in the car, where he simply lies down and falls asleep. 🚗💤 🌊 Water, Wet Noses, and Hilarious Antics! If there's water around, Apollo is ready for fun! He loves getting wet, splashing around, and playing with his doggy friends. But here's where the entertainment begins: once he's thoroughly soaked, he likes to come straight over to his humans and shake himself dry all over them! This animal is currently located in Texas, but we do NOT adopt animals in Texas due to the hundreds of animals being euthanized here daily. We have mainly adopted only in the Northeast but are expanding to include Midwest and PNW starting in September of 2026 The adoption fee listed ($595) INCLUDES transport from Texas to one or around one of the locations below. While not all are in the immediate area, once we have processed and approved your application, we will move the dog to our adoptive area for you to meet, greet and hopefully adopt. Sometimes we will have more than one application on a dog. That does not mean it automatically goes to another family but you should be aware of the fact that until you are approved and set up for the meet/greet.. the dog could get adopted by another applicant.Harley is such a great dog! A note from his foster:  He’s perfectly well-behaved in the house. House-trained, gentle and happily goes into his crate at night or when asked. He’s smart and knows some commands. Seems to take satisfaction from pleasing humans, with just enough personality to make you laugh. He knows enough to test boundaries, but quickly course-corrects. This pup is grateful for getting the pets and is thrilled with the bully-rub.  He’s happy to nap by your feet during work calls, lay in the sun, and eager to go for walks. Good on a leash. Happy to sit for his harness and takes commands well when leaving the house. His prey drive is high — gets too excited about squirrels, most birds, other critters that scurry. He’s not well-suited for other dogs. Or cats.  He’s got some hound in his mix; loves to sniff and on the occasions when a siren would pass he would sing along. (Adorable.) Not a crazy barker, but can sound fierce when he does bark. He’s more of a gentle giant with humans. Did just fine with new people coming into the home. Sheds a lot!  Harley would live his best life in a home where he’s the only pet. A privacy-fenced yard to run free in would be nice, I suspect, but he’s seemingly just as happy to live in a city and go for walks a few times a day. Contact with other dogs would have to be limited.  He’s the perfect dog if you’re looking for a loyal best friend, and don’t have other pets.  Due to his being dog selective, we will only place Admiral in a home with childern 14 and older.
