He often retreats in his kennel and trembles, trying to make himself small. But once he's in a yard, his true personality shines! Bernardo seeks out affection, even jumping up beside you on the bench to ask for pets. He remains cautious about his surroundings, always on alert, but he immediately recognizes you as his safe space. And once he does, you can say goodbye to personal space (in the most endearing way, of course)! Bernardo doesn't understand why a sweet guy like himself is in the shelter. And frankly, we don't either. A perfect size for any home, Bernardo is looking for a family who will help him build the confidence he needs to grow into his best self!
