Story
He’s about 6 years old (rescue, so exact age is unknown) and, according to his Embark Veterinary test, he’s a Japanese Village Dog—a unique and special breed with a lot of character. Dexter is a low-energy, easygoing companion who enjoys both being outside and relaxing at home. He loves to lounge, cuddle, and just be near his people. He’s always done well with adults and meeting new people, and he’s been kept up to date on all vet care. We’ve put a lot of time, love, and training into him over the years. This has been an incredibly hard decision, but Dexter needs to be the only dog in the home. He has had occasional, unpredictable conflicts with our older dog despite working with multiple trainers. They can go long periods without issues, but for everyone’s safety and quality of life, we know he’ll do best in a calm, single-dog environment. Because we can’t fully predict those moments, we believe he would be best in an adult-only home where he can relax and not feel stressed or on edge
