Story
Hi! I’m Lucy; lovable, loyal, lively and looking for my forever home! I’m a very friendly puppy who loves affection and belly rubs. I love playing with my toys, especially if they have treats inside. I’m crate trained and potty trained. I’m very motivated by food so I love being trained with treats. I’m very smart so I learn quickly! I already know all the basic cues and more. I love playing outside and I’m still learning how to walk on a leash. I’ve played with a few dogs but right now I’m the only dog in my home. I would love to have another buddy to play with or I’m fine on my own. I'd do best with children 12 years old and older. General Socialization Notes: I was adopted from a shelter that rescued me and my siblings from a house that had many animals and I didn’t get the food I needed. I had to compete for my food in order to eat. I have to learn that I will have food on a regular basis and you’re not taking it away from me. I’m doing so much better with my resource guarding and I’m learning I will always have enough food. I'd need someone who understands this about me. I’m one smart puppy so I learn easily. I love food so teach me and feed me and I’ll do great! I have a lot of puppy energy and tend to jump on the people I love when I see them but I’m working on not doing that. I just get so excited! Does Lucy like other animals? I’ve met a couple of older dogs and just wanted to play with them but I am still learning how to play with other dogs. I haven't been around cats so I'm not too sure how I'd be with them. Does Lucy like children? I’m in a home with young children and I love them so much sometimes I overwhelm them with my energy and tend to puppy bite and jump up. Since I’m still learning how to trust, I would do great with older kids, 12 years old and older. I'd love kids who are more relaxed and calm around me so I’ll be more relaxed and calm with them. Favorite Toys: I love toys with treats in them. Anything I can gnaw on since I’m still teething. I love rope toys where I can play tug of war. Ideal Forever Home: I would love to have a fenced in yard for plenty of room to roam, explore, and run around. It would be ideal to have a family that will love me, show me affection and give me belly rubs. I would love someone that will keep training me and be patient with me while I learn and build confidence and help with my resource guarding. I'd love a family that will take me out to socialize more, go on walks, hikes, and have fun adventures together. I will be your loyal, lovable friendly companion. I'm a very sweet girl and I can't wait to meet you!

Story
On July 14, 2025 we adopted Allie from Humane Colorado in Alamosa. She was said to be an Australian Shepherd/Australian Cattle Mix. She was 10 weeks old and weighed 8 pounds. She was an affectionate dog from the get go and we bonded instantly. We were told that her expected full grown weigh would be about 40 pounds which we felt was perfect for us. She is smart, affectionate and a real cuddle bug. We fell in love with her. We decided to have her DNA tested and not quite believing the results had it done a second time by a different company. The results showed that she was about 40% Great Pyrenees, 30% Australian Cattle dog, 20% St Bernard and 10% German Shepherd with an expected full-grown weight of 70 plus pounds. We were surprised and felt somewhat mislead that we now had a dog twice the size that we bargained for. The Great Pyrenees is a herding dog. They are strong, intelligent, protective, needs a job but can be gentle and calm around the people they love. Can provide added info.
