Meet Lilly! Good with kids: Yes, older kids. May be too big for little ones. Dogs: Has been ok with other LSG large breed dogs that are dog friendly. Cats: Unknown Other critters: Wants to chase small furries (squirrels for example) Livestock: Unknown Lilly is SO sweet and loving to people. She is very easy to handle and doesn’t mind being brushed. She loves to be petted on and loves belly rubs. She is getting better walking on a leash. She’s a bit unsure of car rides, but is doing better and can be transported with careful supervision. She does the Pyr paw and just wants to be close to her humans. She’s also able to be independent and alone during the work day. Lilly has been kept outside and does well as long as she has access to water, shade and a cooled area. She does not care much about getting in a doggy wading pool but enjoys drinking from it. Lilly had been allowed inside the house for short periods of supervised time and would need some time to adjust to inside living. She is not crate trained yet and prefers to be free and able to roam. She would do great in a home with a doggy door where she can go in and out as needed. She does have anxiety when in the house and she can’t find her humans. She does NOT like loud noises like thunderstorms or fireworks. She does best during storms and fireworks when her human is with her. She needs a large fenced yard where she can move around and play. She likes to roam (what Great Pyrenees doesn’t?!) so fencing should be fully secured in height and depth. For a LSG dog she is not overly vocal at night, but will bark if concerned about something. She is a total sweetheart and is learning commands, but has a stubborn side if she’s just not feeling it. However, her love for people will not keep her far from you. She demonstrates protective tendencies towards the area she considers her’s (more so unknown dogs than people). Eats kibble x 2 a day and enjoys cheese and treats of raw meat. Unclear if she has any history of working with livestock. Lilly is so deserving of a forever family with some room for her to enjoy!

Maggie Moo is a loveable sweet amazing pup! She has energy to play and work but also loves to be lazy and just cuddle. She is a Pyrenees mix, so structure and consistency are very important to keep her happy. Without these, she will make up her own rules…and undoing them will be a challenge! We have had to work her through some behaviors and break her rules. She was very receptive and responds amazingly to verbal praise, positive reinforcement, and food. Maggie loves to learn new skills and to explore. However, she’s quite a scary cat so she doesn’t roam far. A leaf blowing in a new environment will be enough to make her jump and send her running to her new mommy and/or daddy. We have been working on exposing her to new environments and she adapts well. However, she wasn’t exposed to much before so this can still be overwhelming at times depending what is happening. Maggie knows sit, down, stay, place, paw, up, kiss, quiet, and house (go to her kennel). Some of these she is great at and loves doing. While others she is not a fan of and her GP stubbornness may show. However, if you pull out a treat she is more than happy to oblige. She loves the command “house.” Her kennel is her sanctuary (especially when she is tired or overwhelmed). Just give her a biscuit and a chew bone, and she is all too happy to trot her cute wiggly self to her house. She also sleeps completely through the night in her kennel. As we said routine and structure are vital to keeping her in line. This is also because of her high intelligence. Running through her tricks once or twice a day, taking her on walks, or playing fetch provides a lot of mental stimulation for her and therefore makes her a very happy Maggie. If she’s getting hyper or appearing “manic” it’s because she was not worked enough and is experiencing high anxiety. This can result in what appears as her not listening, chewing, or generally being grumpy. Maggie has some behaviors we are working through. Wendy are still leash training and she has come a far and long way. She went from intensely fearing her leash and collar to loving them as they represent freedom and special time for her. With that being said we are taking our time in teaching leash manners and other leash guided new skills so she maintains a highly positive relationship with her leash and collar. Maggie used to mouth A LOT. We have quelled that quite a bit. She still mouths when she wants to play. It is also her way that she communicates “more.” Jacky cuddles and loves on her (quite frankly it’s part of the routine). However, if Maggie is not done with you snuggling and petting her she may mouth you to say “More mom/dad! Please!” We are working on eliminating this behavior all together but she has made quite the progress here too. The behavior we are working on the most is counter surfing. She is so stealthy! We have also curbed this quite a bit but any potential adopters should be aware if we have not been able to eliminate this yet. Maggie would do very well in houses with at least one other large-ish and playful dog. She is still very “puppy” and loves to play. She has found a best friend in our 108lbs German shepherd, Jerry Lee. Jerry has been a great foster brother to Maggie and taught her how to be a dog. They are very playful and love big dog play (which includes a bit of wrestling). After a bit they settle down with a bone and cuddle each other. She does well with our small dog as well. Maggie does attempt to bully the small dog, however our small one can fend for herself. She’s taken on a full maligator and won 🤣. We are unsure how Maggie is with cats but is great with kids. She is extremely gentle when taking food/treats from adults and kids alike. Maggie would also do well with a furever family who is willing to do an extended transition. Given how overwhelmed she can get and so quickly depending on the environment, gradual steps on Maggie getting to know you and your family would be helpful until she does fine for extended time and several overnights without issue. She is a lovable and strong willed girl but also so gentle and sensitive. Once you learn her sweet personality you’ll see why a longer transition period is necessary. But this will ensure she is comfortable and is the perfect family dog for some dog loving people! With that being said her furever family should be dog people. Maggie is not the kind of dog that is “just a pet.” Her personality, attachment, and gentle nature requires a family that can nurture her kind and timid soul while understanding her breed and how that presents. We are absolutely willing to teach and show you what we’ve done so far and what we have found works best for Maggie. That would also be included with the transition period. We do ask that the family who is so lucky to have Maggie know that if they cannot keep her agree to give her back to us, no questions asked and no judgement. Big dogs in shelters are not always adopted quickly, and shelters in central Texas euthanize dogs. Maggie’s gentle soul and personality would cause her to struggle and suffer greatly in a shelter making it impossible to find someone to adopt her. She loves her humans and is 100% loyal and attached to you. You are hers and she will show you that with all the love she has to give. She has so much love that she almost can’t stop wiggling when you love on her or hug her. It just makes her so happy. Adoption: After an approved application a donation to the next foster in need, however Maggie’s fosters Mark and Jacky are willing to cover this for any family interested and willing to do the transition period.
