Meet Maggie! Maggie was adopted as a puppy to become a certified service dog, but she was a little toooo friendly with hoo-mans and was not able to become that service dog her handler so desperately needed! So they brought her to us in hopes we could continue the care to her paw(s) and find her the family they know she deserves! Maggie's front paws still have some healing to do, but she's now ready to find her forever family! Once she's finished with her next round of medication, Maggie will be rechecked by our wonderful vets, and we should have more answers as to the care she will need to continue keeping her paws nice and healthy. In addition to her paws, Maggie seems to have some allergies around her eyes, so there may be a possibility of her needing some allergy meds or injectables to help with this. Luckily, Maggie's future adopters are eligible to be a life-long client at our clinic next door to help lessen the cost of any care she may need. Maggie is a livestock guardian dog, and true to her breed can be protective of high value items and her people, so we are asking any children be 10 and older. Maggie has lived with livestock animals, cats, and dogs! She is said to be afraid of the cat she once lived with but got along great with the dogs she lived with and was around! Still, we do ask that any resident dogs meet Maggie prior to adoption. We are also HIGHLY recommending you have breed experience or similar to her to avoid her returning to us!
