Please apply for me at https://www.shelterluv.com/matchme/adopt/HFAH/Dog (403644-DS) **Meet and greets for approved applicants must happen within 3 days or the closest weekend (for long travelers). It’s in the dogs/puppies best interest to be placed into their furever homes in a timely fashion. All household members must attend the meet and greet. Attica adores people, she also likes to lean into her people for all the love. She’s super gentle at taking a treat! She likes her peanut butter filled kong and will crunch up a pigs ear in a jiffy, but will pass on a rawhide chew. Although Attica is 62 lbs, she could easily gain another 10+ pounds to fill out a bit. She really likes to be outside, so she may fool you that she needs to go potty when she really wants to go out & sniff around. (Hence I ignored the standing by the door & we had an accident – that’s on me!) Attica has been in rescue for a very long time before making her way to Wisconsin, she’s very excited to find a family of her own to love and to learn how to “dog”. She really wants to hang out and be a part of the family but is still working on being able to relax enough to be able to lay down and sleep when not in the kennel. She’s making great strides and I have no doubt she’ll make a great “lap dog” soon!

Story
Hi! My name is Eclaire but my foster family calls me Clairebear! I'm new to the area, I came all the way from Louisiana! They had me in the euthanize hall and I'm not sure how I'll feel about winter, but snow sounds better than that place! I'm a Bouvier des Flandres... if you don't know about my breed RESEARCH before you even think about applying. I know it's pretty easy to look at me and fall instantly in love, but I'm a high maintenance lady and you need to be prepared! I'll need humans who are kind and loving and who can teach me firm boundaries. My foster parents will be picky about where I go because it looks like I've had a little bit of a ruff patch and they think I need some love. I'm vet cleared and am healthy. When I got here I was walking kind of funny and unable to do stairs. The vet said I had a wound on my back leg that had already pretty well healed but may still be painful, it looks like an old k-9 bite. They also said I have a back injury but they gave me an anti-inflammatory medication to reduce swelling so it could heal and MAN!! I can do stairs so fast now! You won't catch me! I get along with my foster dogs well. I'm gentle for my size and ability, but I am rough for little dogs. My Sheltie sister is about 15# and she stays outta my path! I seem to know that I'm not her speed because I don't mess with her at all. I don't back down from dominant dogs, though, I'm pretty ready to brawl. But if they're nice, I'm nice. I walk beautifully on a leash and know how to sit, lay, and get down. They've been using a leash that loops over my head because I don't let them put a collar on me. My neck is my no-go zone. I'm getting better about letting people pet it, but still often stop them with a deep growl. When the growl doesn't work I move their arm with my mouth. I don't bite down hard, I apply just enough pressure that they know to stop. I know "down" but it takes me a bit to realize what you mean when I'm excited to see you! My foster humans are 5'9 and 6'2 and I greet them with hugs around their neck. My tail may be docked, but my stub wags at 40k wags a minute when I see people. My grandma babysat when my foster parents went out of town and I was a perfect girl. I didn't jump on her once! I did do my weird nibble thing though. That's when I just smoosh my face into you and nibble on you. Not sure why. I just do it. And the more you try to stop me, the harder I nibble. Front teeth only. It's not painful but does leave bruises on my mom. Not my grandma though, I'm really quite gentle with older people. I haven't been around kids, but would likely match their energy so I want a home without little ones. I'm a pretty big deal, so well require a lot of attention. When I got here I pooped in the house 2x in 5 minutes and peed on the floor once. I've been here about 2 weeks and I haven't done it since I learned how to use the dog door that same night. I'm smart! Super smart! So smart that if there's ANYTHING on the bar height table or kitchen counters, I assume it's mine and clean it up for you! You'll never need to clean up spilled food or drinks again! I love food. All the food. Every but of it. I'm about 80# and am feeling pretty healthy but the vet said I could gain another 15# and be really good. I don't eat from my doggo siblings bowls, and I'm pretty protective of my own bowl so my own feeding area is best. I don't need a separate room, just my own space and my own dish. I love routine and quickly learn expectations, I really do want to be a good girl and I love praise. I have a terrible habit of chewing everything. Your sweater? One quick chomp from me and there's a good hole! That blanket? Yup! The curtain? Sure thing sister! I don't chew on shoes though, I'm no peasant!! I do sleep in the human's bed and lounge on the couch and I would really like to be able to have space off a hard floor in my new home too. Big girls like comfy lounge spots! I'm in desperate need of a professional grooming, we're still looking for one who can work with me with my sensitive spots on my neck and back. I kinda look like a 3rd grader who's mom gave them a bowl cut, but I rock it! If you think you have enough space, love, and firm boundary setting to bring me into your family, apply!! I am a Bouvier des Flandres, around 3 years old, 80#, microchipped, current on vaccinations, and I have a current health certificate. I am being fostered in Westby, WI. My adoption fee is only $350 and I am already spayed. If you are ready to play hard and love harder, please apply for me at lastpawrescue.org. 501(c) 3 approved WI Agriculture license number 285589-DS.

Story
Hi, I'm Prince. I'm a kind and gentle big beautiful boy. My vet records have me as being a Great Pyrenees, yep that's true, I have a beautiful white coat with a tad buff color and the double dew claws on the hind paws. If I have another mix in me it would be thought to be a Retriever. I don't know my name but I understand why I'm called Prince, everywhere I go I get compliments as to how handsome I am. I am the most gentle giant and would be considered on the smaller size if I'm a full bred Great Pyrenees. I enjoy all dogs even little ones. At only one year of age, I've either had some training or am pretty smart! Am poddy trained and listen good. Unsure if i had been on a leash until coming here, it doesn't bother me but I walk a bit zig zaggy on it. Once I learned the leash meant I got to go for a walk I really impressed my foster mom by walking over to the leash tossing it up with my nose and bringing it over in my mouth. Yeah, I know I'm cute and smart. If it weren't for the lock on the screen door I bet I could open a door handle latch with my nose and let myself out too. I showed my foster mom that but she was right there and keeps it locked. The first day I was timid and on my best behavior. I know not to jump up on people, tried to test it by slowly starting too but listened very well to that's a no-no. Can't be doing that for my size. I know it but hey, a boy can edge toward testing a boundary....can't he? I understand no means no. People kneel by me and that's when we hug and I give the best hugs. I didn't know sit until I copied my foster brother dog and now I am perfect at sitting as we each get a treat for it. The family gave me a large dog bed to lay on but I prefer either the smal bed And can actually make myself fit in it but my favorite is the hardwood floor, maybe because it's cool and I have a lot of fur that keeps me warm. I love the dog park!! It's so fun to run and play. I'd be the best family dog for someone looking for a big lovable dog and who has a large yard ideally fenced as I do like the outdoors. I'm not sure if I'd be the best watch dog because I hardly bark! So unless I pick that bad habit up from the foster brother dog here I'm quiet! Im being fostered in Chippewa Falls, WI My adoption fee is $350 and $100 neuter fee would be credited back. Up to date on vaccinations. Apply at www.lastpawrescue.org "501(c) 3 approved WI Agriculture license number 285589-DS."
