Story
We adopted Bug as a puppy 9 months ago. She is now 11 months old and is a great dog. Bug is great with older children and other dogs, she’s very playful and friendly, and she’s got lots of energy! However, our daughter is now living at home and is due mid-October. As much as we love Bug, we just don’t think a high energy puppy will do well with an infant. She needs a place where there’s room to run and there are people to play with. She is house trained, but we let her out around 2am to prevent any nighttime accidents. Bug is a sweet dog who would thrive in the right home.

Story
🚨 SPEEDY GIRL ALERT 🚨Meet Winnie, a 10-month-old Lab/Red Heeler mix with long legs, a wagging tail, and somewhere VERY important to be. 😂💨At around 40 pounds, Winnie is tall, slim, adorable, and apparently part racecar once she gets outside. She loves to run, loves attention, and when the pets start, that tail goes into full windshield-wiper mode. 💛Winnie has done well with dogs AND cats, and she’s perfectly content hanging out when left home alone. She’s also spayed, vaccinated, microchipped, and ready for her next adventure! Now, is Winnie a finished product? Nope. She’s 10 months old — she’s basically a furry teenager. 😅 She still needs help with housetraining and listening to her humans, so she’s looking for someone patient, consistent, and willing to keep teaching her the ropes. The good news? Winnie has no history of aggression or biting. She’s just a young, energetic girl who needs the right person to help all that potential click into place. If your ideal dog is sweet, silly, speedy, and always ready to wag like there’s no tomorrow… Winnie would like to submit her application. 🐾💛An adoption application can be filled out on the DHS website https://www.dekalbhumanesociety.org/adopt. Dog adoption fees are $250.00 for all puppies and adult dogs. Seniors are a donation of choice.Cats and kittens are minimum donation $50.00
