Story
Sammy is a man of few words - we don't know where he came from or how old he really is... He has scars on his face and body, refuses to answer questions about the past. We just know, he's a cool dude. He enjoys sunsets and watching horses run in the neighbors yard. He enjoys being out with other chill dogs and roaming between meals. He has gained weight since being at this foster home (where he found safety) - 70 lbs at his neuter up to 98 at his last vet visit. Sammy was heartworm positive, treated and on prevention. He would enjoy a home with experience in rescues or shelter dogs, help him settle - learn routine, then relax. He has not shown strong interests in things or favorites - but likely that will change when he is given attention and in a home. FOSTERED IN TEXAS. *Adoption Fee includes fee by van transport to PNW, Midwest or NY-NJ-CT-VA-VT states by pet transport partners. Adoption Fee reflects the need for an XL crate at travel. His caregiver was upset! They found him wandering and had kept him safe in their barn. He had dog friends, he played with Maggie and observes the farm and other animals without being a problem. We agreed to take on his care, finish his medical needs and work on adoption. Even the older, shy, timid or less expressive dogs can be amazing family pets. Thank you for reading his bio and considering this dude.

Story
Betsy is a FUN dog who loves to be with other dogs, maternal and bouncy. She is not aggressive or bossy but does have a bark and her terrier DNA comes out when meeting new smaller dogs. She has spent most of her time with bigger dogs and enjoys being the 'shortie' of the playgroup. Betsy is not food motivated, nibbles through the day, but has managed to become a bit fluffy. 50 lb dog now, she loves car rides, water! and sunbathing. Betsy is spayed, up to date on vaccines and very health - a bit fluffy as she has matured, now 4 years old. Her breed had been a guess until now! a donated DNA test revealed the classic Houston mutt mix of American Pit Bull Terrier, Lab, Boxer, German Shepherd, Shar Pei, Chow Chow. She is a short dog with medium double coat and a sharp mind. She has been fostered with kids, other dogs and in a house/apartment. She is crate trained and loves routine - literally bounces up and down, runs outside then back into her crate to nap. She would benefit from a yard due to her energy.

Story
Junie is an 8-year-old, spayed Pitbull/Retriever mix weighing 56 pounds. She’s currently located in Houston, Texas, but don’t worry—she’s available for out-of-state transport arranged by the rescue once you’re approved to adopt. Junie’s story began on the streets of Houston, where she was found after what was believed to be a dog attack. Scared and alone, her future was uncertain until rescue stepped in and gave her a second chance. Since then, she has blossomed into a resilient, affectionate, and active girl who is more than ready to find her forever family. Junie is a total lovebug who greets every person she meets with kisses and tail wags. She is fully house-trained, crate-trained (though she no longer needs one), and has wonderful leash manners. She rides well in the car, has reliable recall, and loves to run and zoom in open fields. At home, she enjoys curling up on the couch, snuggling close, and sharing her sweet affection. Because of her past, Junie can be cautious around other dogs. With patience, structure, and slow introductions, she has shown she can form deep bonds—even becoming “best friends” with a male dog at her trainer’s home. She can also pass dogs calmly on walks without any issues. If she joins a home with another pup, she’ll thrive with thoughtful, gradual introductions and a little extra guidance. Junie would do best in a home with older children (10+) or kids who understand animal boundaries. We don’t have history of her with cats. At heart, Junie is both playful and soulful—she loves staying active with walks, jogs, or even rollerblading, but is equally happy to be your cuddle companion at the end of the day. Junie is the kind of dog who will change your life. She’s sweet, resilient, loyal, and ready to write her happily-ever-after. Whether as your one-and-only or alongside the right canine companion, Junie will bring love, joy, and adventure into your home. Apply today and give this wonderful girl the forever family she’s been waiting for. https://new.shelterluv.com/matchme/adopt/PRP/Dog ***Listed BREED and AGE - We are taking our best guess & recommendations from our veterinarian on age, breed and size when fully grown. We rarely know a dog's exact age nor are we able to tell the true or full breed mix of dogs as our information is limited most of the time. *** Interested in applying to adopt her?
