Nessie came to us from a shelter in Kentucky where she had been taken in from a neglect case. She was nearly starved and chained up to a pole in her previous home. Lucky girl found a safe place to land and got on a transport to Ohio where she is having a happy dog life in her foster home. She is 1 year old and 45 lbs. She does have a mix of a wavy/wirey coat so may shed some. Nessie is a very playful and silly pup who loves everyone and everything. She does have some puppy energy but she is not an over the top rowdy gal. Going for walks, playing in the yard and just hanging out with her people would be enough for her. Although she has not been tested with children while in foster care, she would probably love a family with kids to play with her. She's made it this far..... now all she needs is you to help her find her happily-ever-after. Meet Gabby! She is a 2.5-year-old Labradoodle weighing 43 lbs. Gabby came to us with significant hair loss from a breeding kennel (as shown in the last picture). At the time, we were unsure of the cause, but we now believe it was a hormonal imbalance, as the hair started growing back after she was spayed. She has now been groomed down to make all of the hair that she has the same length. There is a chance that the rest of the hair may never grow back, but there is also a chance that it will. Gabby is very shy at first, but is a gentle and kind soul when she warms up to you. She keeps her kennel clean, but will need some time to adjust to your new schedule. She is good with other dogs; cats are unknown, but shouldn't be an issue. She would do best with older kids, but younger kids will be okay as long as they are calm and understand to give her space if she needs it. Rowdy is a little over 1 year old, 83.6 pound, Lab (Bluetick Coonhound?) mix. Rowdy joins us through no fault of his own - his family got him being told he would be a medium sized dog (a Blue Heeler mix) and he has grown well beyond that, but in a small 2 bedroom apartment he became too large and they could not continue meeting his needs. Rowdy has shown he needs a little time to adjust, but now that he is settled in his foster home he has shown he is smart, energetic, aims to please, and definitely needs a yard! He has met the foster home's cat and other dogs showing he is one friendly boy who plays a hard - but does no harm. He is crate trained, has not had any accidents in the house, and is doing amazing learning how to walk better on a leash with out pulling nor not jumping up unless asked.
