Story
Oh, hi. I’m Ritch and I am sooooo happy to be going up for adoption! I was rescued by a kind Humane Deputy who was sent out to pick up a “big” litter of puppies! It took a “minute” to round all of us up, but he did it! We have been resting and “eating” while we have waited at the shelter. We were never claimed by our owner and we are all ready for adoption. I have all of my vaccinations for my age, I have a microchip, and I have been neutered. Hey, I have an idea! Why don’t you adopt me and one of my littermates? We would have so much fun growing up together!

Story
Hey there! My name is Biscuit and I am a one-year-old retriever/husky mix that is in the market for my “forever” home! I was originally rescued from a strip mall on a busy highway! YIKES! It was dangerous for me to be there without my owner. Anyway a kind “shopper” picked me up and brought me to the shelter so I could safely wait for my owner. No one ever came and then I went up for adoption. I was lucky to have someone take me on as my Adoption Ambassador! I have enjoyed living in a home with a family while still hoping to find my “forever” home. I am now at the shelter and I am so ready to meet lots of new folks. I have all of my vaccinations, I am heartworm negative, I have a microchip, and I have been neutered. I am a sweet boy and I can’t wait to meet you!

Story
Hi, my name is Carrie and I must find a new home. I guess I had a home at some point, but a kind stranger found me and dropped me off at a vet clinic. The vet clinic called the shelter to pick me up. I was never claimed by my owner and I am now available for adoption. I have all of my vaccinations for my age, I have a microchip, and I have been spayed. I am a “teenage” retriever mix! I have a little more growing to do, lots to learn about doggie manners, and plenty of kisses to give my new family!! Be ready for lots of fun times with me as I grow to be a loyal friend and companion.

Shelly here! I am so happy to see you looking at me on this website! I am looking for a new home and maybe you could help me out with that! I am an eighteen-month-old retriever/lab mix. As you can see in my picture I am a pretty chocolate color. Animal Control picked me up from a neighborhood a few weeks ago. I was never claimed by my owner and I am now available for adoption. I have all of my vaccinations, I am heartworm negative, I have a microchip, and I have been spayed. I think I would be a great companion for a single person or a wonderful addition to any family. I hope to be adopted soon and start my new life!

Story
Mattie is an 8-month-old female Lab/Shepherd mix who has already been spayed.  She is an owner turn in because they could no longer take care of her.  Mattie is gorgeous!  She has a rich chocolate coat with beautiful white markings.  Mattie's eyes are stunning!  You can tell by her healthy, shiny coat that she has been well taken care of.  Mattie weighs 34 pounds; and she is considered to be a medium sized dog.  She is well behaved on a leash; and she is crate trained.  Mattie would make an excellent family dog who would do well in a home with children and other dogs.  This loving and intelligent dog has so much to offer her adopter.  Could it be you?Dog/puppy adoption fees are $120.  Cat/kitten adoption fees are $75.  All pets will be spayed/neutered before adoption; or you will be given a discount spay/neuter certificate to be used at participating vet clinics to help with the cost of spay/neuter.  Our adoption fees cover a microchip, microchip registration, deworming, vaccinations (as age and law requires), and a courtesy vet exam at participating offices. Unless otherwise indicated under 'special needs' our dogs have screened heart worm negative.  December 9, 2025, 12:19 pm

Story
Leonard is a 1-year-old male Yellow Lab mix who has already been neutered. He was found as a stray in Prattville and no owner showed up to claim him.  Leonard has a gorgeous tan/yellow coat with white markings.  He also has a docked tail; and the most gorgeous eyes you have ever seen. Leonard weighs 35 pounds and we don't think he will get much bigger.  This sweet guy is active, playful, and would be great in a home with children and other dogs.  Leonard is just a great all around dog and some lucky adopter is going to get a great new friend!Dog/puppy adoption fees are $120.
