Story
Sex: MaleBreed: German Shepherd XEstimated Birth Date: 02/04/2019We wish more people gave dogs with differences a chance. Dogs like Ivar who didn’t ask to be different but have chosen to make the most of their lot in life. They really aren’t so much different than the perfect dog everyone is looking for. They live, they love and they just want a little luck finding their place in this world. Sadly for many they won’t find that home. Ivar was lucky. He’s had so many good humans advocate for him starting with his original rescue overseas. He was part of a large group of dogs we brought over from both Morocco and Lebanon prior to the CDC import ban. Since arriving on US soil Ivar has really come out of his shell and is a happy go lucky guy. He’s sweet and affectionate, goofy and playful. He’s just happy to be alive and you can see that instantly the moment you meet him. Ivar is great with other dogs and has a fun energy that would make him a wonderful addition to almost any family. Ivar is adoption ready and would love a caring family of his very own. We know the care needs of a wheelie pup turn many adopters away but we won’t give up hope that Ivar’s people are out there. Many of you will say the ranch is Ivar’s home but we want his forever home to be so much more than we can offer him at the ranch. He deserves to have a home where he doesn’t have to share with an entire ranch full of other pups. He deserves a family who can devote their time to him and will love him differences and all. Maybe that family is you….help us find him the home he’s been waiting for. Story
Sex: FemaleBreed: Labrador Retriever/ Pitbull xEstimated Birth Date: 03/25/2019Cali is the worlds greatest mom and she’s taking those amazing mom skills to some humans who can use it the most….Pawsitive Change! This sweet girl and her tiny babies almost lost their lives due to an upper respiratory infection and lack of space at the shelter. But they were lucky. We saved the whole family and they’ve thrived at our ranch. Cali has completed her puppy care duties and is now ready to take those nurturing skills to the men at North Kern State Prison. They need some kindness and Cali can give them what they need. They in turn will give Cali the skills she needs to be noticed by potential adopters. It’s win-win!Cali like all dogs just wanted to be given a chance at life. A chance she almost didn’t get but Pawsitive Change will give her that chance. She’s a very sweet girl and was an attentive and protective mother. She loves attention and is super affectionate. She’s been social with some of our calmer dogs at the ranch and has thoroughly enjoyed pack walks both in prison and at the ranch. She really loves the boy pups. She is a pretty calm gal and just enjoys spending time with people. Her future home should have no kitty friends as she does have a moderate to heavy prey drive. Cali’s ready to learn all she can in prison and she’s ready to focus on her future. Many mom dogs are overlooked by adopters with preference given to their puppies. Our hope is that families will see what a good girl sweet Cali is and that paired with the training she’s receiving will help her find the amazing home she should have had all along. Sex: MaleBreed: Pitbull/Labrador Retriever xEstimated Date of Birth : 01/30/2022There are some really amazing dogs out there and Angus is one of them! Not only is he gorgeous but he’s an absolute sweetheart of a dog! Humans, dogs they’re all his friends and he wants nothing more than any little bit of attention you’re willing to give. He’ll melt right into you and be your instant buddy. As if he couldn’t be more perfect this boy is also both crate and house trained. He has a calm energy and is fantastic in a home environment. This makes us love him even more. He’s quickly become a ranch favorite and now it’s time to make him your favorite too! Can you believe Angus had no interest at the shelter and was euthanasia listed because he’d been there too long? We hate that shelters are so full they can’t give dogs like Angus more time. Great dogs who just need a little longer to find their perfect homes. We have the time and thankfully we also had the space. Angus has joined us at the rescue ranch and made us all fall hopelessly in love.So are you looking for a really great dog? Know someone who is? Need a dog with fantastic people and dog skills? Want calm energy and good house manners? If you come meet Angus you won’t be disappointed and we can guarantee you’ll leave with your new best friend. Apply today! Story
Sex: MaleBreed: Labrador Retriever xEstimated Date of Birth : 08/13/2016Looking for a dog that’s just happy to be part of a family? A dog who enjoys the simple things in life? Well Naaji is that dog! He may not be physically perfect but what he lacks in mobility he makes up for with a heart of gold. For 5 years he’s waited for the perfect home and he’s hopeful that perfect person will finally see his posts. They’ll see his posts and choose to make him part of their family. That’s what he wants most in the whole world. His little piece of the American dream…..5 years ago Naaji made the trek across the ocean from Saudi Arabia to the United States. Naaji was originally a guard dog. In fact his name in Arabic means useful. And that's what he was viewed as by his owner as a useful tool to protect his home. When Naaji was hit by a car, he was no longer useful. His owner wanted to euthanize him because he thought, as many think, that there was no quality of life and that there was no purpose to having a "lame" dog. Thankfully there was a rescue in Saudi Arabia that stepped in and saved Naaji's life. However, the rescue realized they did not know how to care for a handicapped dog. But they realized Naaji still had a purpose. They searched and found Marleys Mutts. They had seen, through our social media pages, that not only could we care for a handicapped dog but that we were trying to change the perception surrounding them. They reached out and coordinated a drop off in New York City. When Naaji came to the ranch it was clear that he had not been afforded some of the simple luxuries that nearly every pet here enjoys. He did not know how to receive affection and would often snarl. It became clear he had never had positive human interaction. Hes now called our ranch home for many years. He’s learned the skills needed to be part of a family and is hoping to have a family of his own. He finally landed an amazing foster family and has blossomed in a home environment. We knew he would and we are now more determined than ever to find Naaji his forever home. If you’ve been looking or maybe you know someone who has please share Naaji’s incredible journey with them. His story and his perseverance will speak to people’s hearts and hopefully give him the forever he’s waited so long for. Family’s interested in giving this sweet boy his perfect happy ending please apply. He’s ready to start truly living his American Dream. Story
Tessa came to is December 28th 2023 from the City of Bakersfield Animal Care Center. She is about a year old and full of spunk. Here is a note from Tessa: Hey! I'm Tessa! Not to brag but I'm some kind of lab mix Some things to know about me is that I just love playing with my dog buds here! I kinda like them more than the humans even. I do like some pets from the humans, but I could also do without. I especially love playing with my toys, I love chew bones and Jolly Balls most! The humans say I walk pretty good on the leash and have progressed with my crate training; I started what they call "placing training." I'm not really a fan of it, but they keep on me, so I've been trying to listen and be good. I can be a bit stubborn at first until I realize who the boss is... but if you let me be the boss then I'll just run with that! Anyways, I'm gonna go hang with my friends here for now until my forever family comes along!

Story
Gee is a super loving fun girl. Enjoys long walks, sleepy time & people. We have been looking after her for a friend for 1.5 years and she’s been the sweetest. We recently had a baby and moved into a small apartment. Since then she just seems very sad and I don’t think she’s the biggest fan of the baby. Not mean just uninterested every time we try to have her interact with him. We also have very limited space and I feel she needs a home with lots of space to run around, attention and love. Preferably a home with a backyard or someone who has the time to take her out often for exercise. She is so low maintenance but needs time to get out and run around. We can’t always give her that in our small apartment and having a baby. She absolutely loves cuddles, treats & bananas! She’s just a sweet girl and we’re very sad to rehome her but just feel she would be happier in another home.
