Story
Queen is a sweet girl looking for a patient, understanding family to call her own. She is house-trained when let outside regularly, though she may take a little time to do her business and does not let you know when she needs to go out. When her family is away, she does best resting safely in her kennel, as she may chew on household items if left unattended.Queen will thrive with a family that can help her feel secure and build her confidence. She has never lived with cats or other dogs. Since she has been with us at the shelter, she has not shown good behavior around other dogs so she will need to be the only dog in her new home. She previously lived with a 2-year-old child and was gentle, affectionate, and enjoyed cuddling. Queen loves splashing around in the kiddie pool and her personality shines when outside in the play yard. This smart girl already knows several commands, including sit, paw, and lay down. Like many dogs, she is not a fan of vet visits or nail trims. If you are looking for a loyal companion who enjoys affection and just needs a little patience and reassurance, she may be the perfect addition to your family.Queen is four years old and weighs 69 pounds. All pets are microchipped, up to date on vaccines, and will be altered prior to adoption. If you are interested in meeting a dog, please stop by the shelter during open hours. Dogs may be in a foster home, therefore scheduling an appointment is recommended. If you have an existing dog at home, we recommend bringing it along to meet your possible new family member.helpingstrays.org

Story
Meet Crue, a happy, bouncy, never met a stranger kind of Lab! This handsome silver boy has a personality that truly shines once he’s outside of the shelter. He’s the kind of dog who greets you with excited little bounces, a big goofy smile, and absolutely no shortage of love.Crue is good with dogs and kids, and his temporary dad had nothing but wonderful things to say about him. In fact, when asked about Crue, he described him as “such a cuddle bug,” “such a sweet boy,” and said he’d be “great for a family.” And if you know Labradors, you know they were built for adventure! Crue could play fetch for hours and would happily join you for a hike that stretches for miles. His love of retrieving is especially impressive, and he reportedly came from a breeder; something that certainly seems to show in his natural drive and devotion to the job.But don't let that Lab energy fool you; Crue has an off switch! Once the fun is over, he’s perfectly happy to settle down, cuddle up, and hang out with his people. Whether you're looking for a hiking buddy, a fetch champion, a family dog, or simply a giant cuddle bug to greet you at the door, Crue might just be your guy.Good with dogsGood with kids Fetch enthusiast Adventure buddy Professional cuddle bug Happy, sweet & affectionate Has an excellent off switchAll pets are microchipped, up to date on vaccines, and will be altered prior to adoption.
