Story
Sweet baby Jasmine was brought into a crowded public pound in Louisiana in July with untreated skin issues. Due to her skin being in such rough shape, the shelter not having a vet on staff, and the fact that people aren't looking to adopt pups missing most of their hair, Jasmine was in danger of being put to sleep. A local rescue group swooped in and pulled her, and Jasmine has been healing and thriving in foster care ever since! All this amazing girl needs now is a home! As of early December, Jasmine is 40lbs and 8 months old. She hasn't grown much taller in the 2+ months she has been in foster care. We think she may be some sort of low rider mix, like a Dachshund or Basset Hound mixed with a Labrador? She loves to hold toys in her mouth like a Lab. Jasmine's foster mom says, "One word to sum up Jasmine is SWEET! She loves toys - especially the kind that crinkle. She is potty trained and sleeps through the whole night in her crate without a peep. She likes to sleep cuddled up with a stuffie (just check out her photo album). She likes to grab the leash in her mouth and lead the way on walks - she wants to walk you instead of you walking her. She is doing great learning basic puppy manners and tries hard to please. She is an “observer” - if a neighbor walks out while we are outside, she just stops what she is doing and watches them - she also watches the TV and her reflection in the oven door. She gets the zoomies, but overall, she is pretty calm for a puppy her age. She loves spending time outside exploring. She is very quiet - she will whine to go outside to potty, but she rarely barks." Jasmine is good with other dogs but is a little too interested in cats on her walks, so likely needs a cat free home. Jasmine's photo album with lots of photos and videos of her healing journey: https://photos.app.goo.gl/4MdxyKgswpGLNh437 Jasmine has had a full set of puppy vaccines, is 4DX negative for heartworm and tick-borne diseases, and is current on heartworm/flea/tick prevention and deworming. She is spayed and microchipped. Her hair loss was due to demodex (a non-contagious skin condition) which she has been treated for. Jasmine is fully healed with a beautiful, healthy new coat of hair! Her vet expects no lingering effects from her having had demodex. All this darling girl needs now is a home!

Story
We adopted Abby from a friend who had found a pregnant stray. Her birthday is January 2nd and she is almost 8 years old. She is a black lab mix and while she is slightly smaller than most labs, she has all of the energy! She is house, crate, and leash trained, but responds best to a prong collar while on a leash. She is very healthy, sweet, and gets along well with people and other animals. She barks very little except to alert us about the occasional armadillo in the yard. She loves to run and prefers a big yard, but she also does well with frequent walks. She is very affectionate and eager to please, although she can be excitable when she hasn’t gotten enough exercise. She will make a great pet for an active family.
