Weighing around 60 pounds, Albus is young, curious, and ready to learn what it means to be someone’s best friend. Albus is currently in a foster home, where he’s mastered potty training and basic manners. His foster is helping him to be more attentive, especially on walks where he gets distracted, and he’s making steady progress with patient, positive guidance. He’s good in a crate and is learning to settle when it’s time to rest. He also waits quietly when his food bowl is presented. Albus came to us from a shelter with a short tail, likely the result of a previous amputation or self-mutilation, but it doesn’t slow him down one bit — he still wiggles with happiness when he sees his people! At the shelter, Albus tested well with other dogs, and we think he’d enjoy having a canine friend to play with. We’re not sure how he feels about cats, so introductions should be done carefully. When he’s not in the mood to play, Albus is a total snugglebug who loves cuddling on the couch or sleeping in bed with his people. He truly enjoys being close and part of the family. Because he’s still learning and can be strong on leash, Albus will do best with a confident, active person who can guide him and manage him on walks. A fenced yard is preferred, as he enjoys exploring and having a safe space to stretch his legs. He was never taught commands before rescue, but he’s now learning to sit and starting to understand what’s required to be a “good boy.” If you’re looking for a loyal, loving companion who’s ready for a fresh start and eager to make you proud, Albus might be the perfect match for you.Visit this organization's web site to see any additional information available about this pet.January 19, 2026, 11:29 am
