Termite is a 2-year-old Anatolian Mastiff mix who may be a big boy, but his heart is even bigger! 💕This gentle giant is a total sweetheart and, from what we’ve been told, loves everyone he meets. His one exception is fowl, so a home without chickens or other fowl will be best for him. Termite will need a securely fenced yard where he can stretch his big paws and enjoy some outdoor time. If you’re looking for a big, lovable companion with an even bigger heart, Termite may be your guy!

Whiskey is a 2-year-old neutered (just completed in late August) male, what we feel could be a purebred, albeit poorly bred, Irish Wolfhound. He is a big boy but weighs only 110 lb. He towers over our 182 lb English Mastiff (also available for adoption), Isla! We had high hopes of keeping him here on the ranch. However, he is very determined to catch and kill cats, and that just won't work. He also recently started going after the farm fowl. He is excellent with all sizes of other dogs. Very friendly and playful with them. He's great with other dogs. He has had a very traumatic past. He is terrified of most men and takes weeks to warm up to a new woman. He requires complete patience and determination.. He is very insecure and does not trust easily. He is a bolter and as strong as a yearling colt! Much care needs to be used when attempting to walk him outside of a fenced area. We are working on this. We are working on everything with him. We feel he's finally to a place where he's comfortable enough to feel good about moving into a permanent home. This is going to have to be a home with a extremely secure, solid fence, 6' or better. He can tear through chain link. Everything scares him from loud noises, backfiring cars, thunder, slamming doors, any kind of yelling.... And he bolts. He doesn't run away. He'll stay right around the property and it takes him about 2 days to come down off of whatever fear level he's at and come back to you. We have a large property so that doesn't bother us as much as the fact that the neighbors don't appreciate him "trespassing" . I'm being very honest about his behaviors because we didn't know any of this when we agreed to pull him from the shelter and this has been a learning experience! We've had him about 2 months now. He IS housebroken, but will counter surf. He does know how to use a dog door. He can make himself extremely small and fit underneath a bed to hide if he gets scared and it's very difficult to get him out. He cannot go to a home with children as he is completely unaware of his size and could run over the top of them and hurt them. We are seeking a breed experienced adopter. It's a tall order, we understand and we're willing to keep him for as long as it takes to find the perfect home! ***We have been made aware of an "accidental" (i don't believe in accidental litters! Spay/Neuter or you WILL have puppies!! 🤷) of pups in Deer Park in 2025 by a purebred IW dad and a Great Pyrn/Anatolian Shep mom. The puppies were sold far and wide and he very possibly could be one of these puppies. That would make him just over a year old. He looks identical to others from this little that people have sent in pictures of!!
