LOCATION: Dallas, TXDOB: 02/02/2020We adopt nationwideBaynard is a commanding presence wrapped in thick fur and quiet wisdom. Likely a Caucasian Shepherd, this is no ordinary dog—he is a true Livestock Guardian Breed, bred for strength, independence, and loyalty. With Baynard, respect is everything. He doesn’t take kindly to being micromanaged or handled like a lapdog. He doesn’t want to be stared down, and he doesn’t want to share your bed. What he does want is simple: space, purpose, and someone who understands his language.Baynard thrives in a low-key, rural environment with plenty of land to roam. He’s a dog who was born to be outside, observing his world from a cool, shaded spot or patrolling the perimeter with calm confidence. He may not beg for affection, but don’t be fooled—he loves his people deeply in his own dignified way. He’ll lean into your leg when you groom him, offer his paw when he’s at ease, and stand by you with quiet devotion.Though he has food aggression with other dogs, Baynard otherwise coexists well with canine companions—even dominant males. His best friend is a mini Great Dane, proving that size isn’t everything in the friendship department. He’s also good with cats, but children aren’t a fit for him. He needs a calm, experienced adult home that understands the instincts and boundaries of an LGD.Baynard has his playful side too. He lights up over a game of fetch and turns into a giant, goofy puppy, bounding around with his enormous paws and surprising lightness. It’s a joy to watch, and a glimpse of the tender soul inside the stoic exterior.Baynard is not for the faint of heart or first-time dog owners. He’s for the few who truly know what it means to live with a working guardian—a dog who thinks for himself and needs partnership, not command. If you have experience with Caucasian Shepherds or similar LGD breeds, Baynard could be the kind of dog who changes your life. He’s not just looking for a home. He’s looking for someone who speaks his language. Please share his story beyond our usual circle of Great Dane lovers—Baynard’s person might be out there, just waiting to meet him.Note: SRGDRR adopts nationwide and offers transport options to help you find your perfect match! Story
Leo was born June 2nd 2025 in Keren Tx to a Great Pyrenees mother and by an Anatolian Shepherd. Now these were both farm dogs not pure bred. The mother and father were sweet dogs very calm and gentle. Leo both wanted attention but wasn't jumping or licking. He was 8 weeks old. Well he had an untreated UTI and needed emergency surgery days into having him. Despite this he learned to potty train very quickly, basically as soon as he healed and was physically able to hold it. He was my mother's helper playing with my toddler while I was exhausted from pregnancy. One day my toddler learned to open the gate while I was too focused on picking up poop. He stayed right with her, put himself between her and my neighbor who had stopped to help. My baby is colicky, I cannot put the time aside to go over obedience training or taking him on walks. Best I could do was be in the yard but now he has knocked over my toddler one too many times. He could be a great dog with not too much effort.

Story
Blue was found on the side of the road near a nature preserve. He was dumped along with his mama and other puppy siblings. Unfortunately, his little family was hit by a vehicle and he was the only one who survived. My husband came upon him and he was found trying to pull his mama’s body off the road. He is a very good and sweet dog. He’s been around goats, pigs, turkeys, ducks, chickens, cats and other dogs. He does well with other animals, except for chickens. He is also great with my 9 year old son and our friends toddlers. Sadly, we need to rehome him to a loving home that can give him undivided attention.
