Story
Hi.
My name is Olaf and I am a 5 year old, white, male, purebred Bichon Frise looking for a great new forever home and Hoomans. I’m not very good at meeting new people yet, so please bear with me while I tell you a little bit about myself.
When I first came to Golden Paws, I had been through some really rough times. I had just about given up on trusting people. I would lay down with my nose against the wall, and refuse to look anyone in the eye. I would not look at anyone. I would not acknowledge anyone.
But little by little, things began to change. I slowly learned that the people who cared for me here were not coming to be cruel to me, but to bring me food or water, or out for exercise. They would talk gently to me, pet me when I felt it was safe, and let me know that people could be kind after all.
After some time, I would look forward to certain members of Golden Paws coming by to see me. I now walk to the front of my run to say hi to them. I’m going to need lots of time and space to get used to the idea that there are more nice people interested in me than there are cruel ones. I was adopted once, but I was brought back because I wasn’t coming out of my shell. I just don’t think I was quite ready at that time, but I am now.
I really like the other animals here, dogs and cats, so I think I would do very well in a home with other animals. I believe they would help me come out of my shell even more. If you do have another dog, you can bring them with you when you have your meet and greet with me. Then we can see how well we all get along together
I believe that a quiet home, with other animals, would show you the kind of dog I can be. The real me is loving and loyal if just given the chance. I weigh about 25 lbs so I’m not very big. I have had all my shots and have been neutered, so I’m really ready to go.
Fill out an application and come on down for a meet and greet with me. This is one of those times in life when you get a chance to have an uncut diamond for your very own. Together, we can make this happen,. I believe it will be something you’ll look back on as one of the best decisions you ever made. I hope to see you soon!
Love, Olaf
