Story
Meet Fern, an 8½-year-old Cavalier King Charles Spaniel and Bichon mix. She is loving, gentle, and truly one of the sweetest dogs I’ve ever met. Fern can be shy and reserved at first, but she usually starts to bond after a few days. With patience, she will come around and will become your best buddy within a week or so. Because living in a house is new to her, she is still adjusting to everyday sounds like the TV, lawn mowers, and vacuum cleaners. She is mostly a couch potato who loves staying close to you.  She would do best in a home with another dog for companionship, so we are looking to place her in a home with another dog.  Fern is also good with cats. Fern walks well on a leash, but leash potty breaks are still new to her and can make her a little nervous. For that reason, she needs a home with a fenced-in yard. Fern is potty trained and has not had any accidents in the house. However, she does not signal when she needs to go out, so her foster takes her outside about every three hours. She does not play with toys and is happiest staying close to you, snoozing on the couch or on in a dog bed, but if you are on the couch she will be right next to you. She currently sleeps in the kitchen with the other foster dog. Fern has not been around children, so we are unsure how she would do. Given her gentle nature, she may do well with older, respectful children. If you are interested, complete the  Adoption Application  on our website at  www.NeedyPaws.org  and we will contact you.  Adopters must live within an hour’s drive of St. Louis, MO. Story
Meet Autumn! 🍂 Autumn is an 11-year-old Poodle mix and the definition of a true Golden Girl. At just 15 pounds, this sweet senior is looking for a loving home where she can spend her golden years surrounded by comfort, companionship, and all the love she deserves. Don't let her age fool you. Autumn still has plenty of life and spunk! She enjoys going for walks, keeping up with her people, and then settling in for what she does best: being the ultimate cuddle buddy. Whether you're binge-watching your favorite Netflix series or enjoying a quiet evening at home, Autumn is always happy to be right by your side. Autumn is wonderful with dogs, cats, and children, making her an easy addition to just about any family. She is crate trained, well-mannered, and knows how to be a respectful house guest. She does best when given regular potty breaks and will usually let you know when she needs to go outside. She prefers going outdoors and may have an accident if left too long without a potty break. This sweet girl was surrendered by her previous owner, and we would love nothing more than to see her find the forever family she deserves. A family that will spoil her with love, soft beds, belly rubs, and all the attention a girl could want. Autumn does have a history of pancreatitis, so she will need to remain on a low-fat diet and avoid table scraps and excessive treats. Thankfully, she is doing great, is healthy for her age, and is an excellent eater. If you're looking for a loyal companion, a professional snuggler, and a best friend who will love you unconditionally, Autumn may be the perfect match. Autumn is spayed, microchipped, up to date on vaccines, and current on heartworm and flea prevention. Adoption Fee: $300 Local (Texas) | $550 Out of State (includes transport) Everyone who meets her falls in love. ❤️ If you think you could be Autumns best rest of her life go ahead and submit an adoption application now!
