Story
For the past week, our small dog section has looked like it was overrun by the world's tiniest flock of sheep: four 6-month-old Coton de Tuléar mixes, courtesy of a backyard breeder who thought puppies were a business plan.Dandelion, the smallest of the four, arrived as a little miss bossy-pants, determined to supervise her siblings as they navigated their scary new world. Once she realized we've got it covered, she relaxed and became the silly, snuggly, playful puppy she was meant to be.Whisper is as soft and delicate as her name implies, and she has only happy secrets to share. Her favorite position is belly-up while gently sucking your thumb. The two boys, MiniMarshmallow and Cotton, are little boys through and through -- tumbling, wrestling, chasing leaves, defeating them in battle, then running back for praise and victory cuddles.Honestly, every time I pick a favorite, another one wiggles into my lap and changes my mind. They CAN go home separately, so somebody has to decide. One important warning: puppies, no matter how tiny, fluffy, and adorable, are still puppies. They require time, patience, consistency, and a sense of humor. There are no shortcuts. Put in the time and love, though, and you'll end up with a loyal, joyful companion for years to come.Come meet our flock at Animal Aid Society, 80 Butler Farm Rd., Hampton, VA. Visiting hours are daily (including weekends & holidays) from 9am to noon.Interested? Come for a visit any day of the week - 365 days a year between 9am - 12pm. Hope to see you soon!PLEASE NOTE: Animal Aid Society observes a 40 mile adoption radius to facilitate post adoption support and follow ups.
