Story
Four year old Fern is likely the sweetest cat you'll ever meet. She loves pets, treats, and attention, especially from guests. She is very vocal and loves to cuddle at bedtime and in the morning. Fern loves other cats, but sees herself above them on the cat hierarchy and will enforce the order she has set within the household when her rules are not followed. We are rehoming Fern over a litter box dynamic with our other resident cat that causes her to poop outside of the box from time to time. Fern would do best in an only cat household to prevent litter box interactions between her and another cat. She has never peed outside of her box and has fewer hairballs than expected for a Maine Coon mix but requires frequent baths and brushing for her coat. We cannot guarantee, but we suspect that Fern's litter box issues would resolve themselves if she were an only cat. We would allow prospective new owners to undergo a foster trial period. She has no other issues.

Story
Mimi is a beautiful black and white Maine coon with big soulful green eyes. His exact age is unknown because he was rescued over 10 years ago. He is one of the kindest cats I have ever met and loves to be around people and have close physical contact either by laying next to you or laying on top of you. Mimi is a very calm and sweet boy. Unfortunately i have to give him up because for over a year now he’s been having digestive issues that causes diarrhea and he will poop outside of the litter box. This has made my home very unpleasant and difficult. I’m not in the right financial state to be able to take him to the vet when required. I feel he will be better off in a loving home that can afford visits to the vet.

Story
Roosevelt and his brother Capone are two wonderfully affectionate cats. These two boys were left outside of our center on a cold rainy day in a dog crate. There was no information given as to why they were left or anything regarding their history. Both cats are extremely affectionate with humans and each other. They groom one another, sleep together and play. Both cats will need to be adopted to the same home together, we are unwilling to separate them. The adoption fee for Roosevelt and Capone is $350 together.

Story
Pippen is a handsome long-haired Maine Coon mix with an estimated date of birth of 9/11/2010. Pippen’s foster mom describes him as a purr machine who loves chin scratches and flopping onto his back for pets. Because of his age and current weight, he is not very active with toys. However, he enjoys laying around watching his fosters brothers play. Pippen is the perfect cat for someone looking for a relaxing, loving pet. Pippen was relinquished by his owner after 13 years because she was moving and could not take him along. He came to us through the request of one of our fosters who heard his story. Following medical care and extensive grooming, Pippen was admitted to a foster home where he is being lovingly cared for. His previous diet has been modified to a healthier product and he is currently on a weight reduction plan. Pippen would prefer to be the only cat in his new home. For more information and pictures, go to our website: http://www.ppahrescue.org/adoptable-pets/ To submit an adoption application online: http://www.ppahrescue.org/adoptapp/ If you cannot adopt, please share to help Pippen find a "furrever" home. To make a donation via PayPal, USPS, or one of our current campaigns; to provide an item from our Amazon Wish List, or to sponsor an animal, please do so here: http://www.ppahrescue.org/donation/ All animals are already spayed/neutered, FIV/FeLV tested negative, micro-chipped, de-wormed and have all necessary shots. They are ready to go to a loving home. Adoption fee is $175.00. If you have any questions, please email Admin@PPAHrescue.org. Thank you.

Story
Bryce is a handsome and sweet, three-year-old, 13-pound, hunk of a brown tabby Maine Coon-mix looking for a loving guardian. Bryce was found living outside with poor vision due to juvenile cataracts. The cataracts probably formed due some virus he contracted as a kitten. Bryce loves to be pet and brushed; he absolutely drools with happiness! He does startle easily since his vision is impaired, and he play bites when over-stimulated so he’s looking for an experienced cat lover without children in the home. He is very healthy, neutered, vaccinated for rabies and distemper, microchipped, and virus-tested negative. He can be easily intimidated by some cats, so he can either live with a calm, easy-going cat, or on his own as the one and only pet in the home. His adoption fee of $150 benefits rescue. To meet and possibly adopt him, please fill out the adoption application at https://friendsofpetraits.com/cat-adoption-application/ and follow up with friendsofpetraits@gmail.com He is being fostered in Chicago.

Do you want a cat who acts like a dog? Who greets you at the door? Who loves a little play time in his day? Who thrives on routine?? Well Bear is the cat for you!! He is surprisingly agile and playful for such a big fella, wait until you see his mad hops!!! Bear is very social and always wants to be close to his people, however, Bear is not a fan of little humans, or other cats living in the home because he likes to think he's the boss. He has great little box etiquette and no history of hairballs as long as you hook him up with some wet cat food. He loves to be brushed, allows nail trimming easily and keeps himself well groomed. If you are looking for a furry friend to stick by your side check out Bear!!!

Story
Hey there! I’m cute, right? That’s why you’re here, you thought I was cute. So let me tell you a little bit about myself because, I’m not your average kitty. My name is Scoots but my foster mom has lots of other names for me; Scooty, Scootsy, Scoot-a-toot, tootsie. I’m a smart little guy so I usually answer to all of the above. I was brought to the shelter because I got hurt somehow. My back legs don’t work like they’re supposed to so I can’t use them. That’s how I got the name Scoots, I scoot to get around. But don’t let that fool ya! I can move pretty fast when I get the zoomies! They say I’m “different” but I don’t feel different. I get around just as well as my kitty foster brother except, I don’t get in trouble for jumping on the counter. I do have to wear a diaper though because I can’t get into the littler box very well. I really like my doggie foster brother and sister, they’re German Shepherds but they don’t scare me! My foster kitty brother likes to play rough and I’m ok with that, I’m a tough guy. I love to show off and climb my kitty tower because, you know, I can only use my front legs, so clearly, I’m a strong boy. My favorite toys are these little tinsel balls that I can chase after, swat like a volleyball or catch mid air. I can go down stairs easily and I’m working on going up every once in awhile. I do like to look outside and watch the birds whenever I can. I’m not one to hide very much. I like to be around everyone because I’m a curious kind of guy.  Our house can be quiet but also quite chaotic at times and I’m pretty chill either way. I just like to witness all the action. Even though I do like to play, I don’t love to be picked up and held. I’ll sit with you on the couch though, I’m pretty good company. My foster mom says I’m also very entertaining. You should really contact Starfish to see if we would be a good fit. Hope to meet ya soon! Interested in meeting the Scoots? Complete our online application at https://www.starfishanimalrescue.com/adopt/cat-adoption-application The adoption fee of $150.00 includes neuter, microchip, age appropriate/required vaccinations and any other necessary medical treatment to assure a healthy new cat for your family. Although we make the best guess on the breed of our cats, because they come from shelters, we can never be completely certain of the genetic makeup of the cat.  All we can tell you for sure is that they are 100% RESCUED! Thank you for wanting to adopt a Starfish Animal Rescue cat! Story
Pixie is just over six years old. She is a beautiful, grey, Maine Coon mix and, because of her large breed, weighs 17 pounds. She loves to be brushed, petted, sit on your lap and sleep with you. As she has long hair, she should be brushed often so her fur stays soft and shiny.Pixie would be suitable for any family who will love and care for her, as long as she is an only pet. She does not like other cats or dogs. If children are present, she would prefer that they be older and know how to treat her gently. She would also be a great companion for seniors or someone who has recently lost a pet and is trying to fill the void in their life so they will no longer be lonely.Almost Home's Adoption Requirements:Be at least 21 years of ageHave the knowledge and consent of all adults living in the householdHave approval from owner of residence (written in lease)Have a valid ID with current addressBe approved as a suitable adoptive home by Almost Home FoundationBe ready to make a lifetime commitmentLive in the suburbs surrounding Chicago (Illinois Residents only)Pass a veterinarian reference check for current and past pets.Adoption payment cash, check or Zelle onlyIf you are interested in Pixie, please email cats@almosthomefoundation.org or complete an online adoption application at www.almosthomefoundation.org.*** Please note that Almost Home Foundation accepts only cash, checks, or Zelle for adoption fees; we do not accept debit or credit cards. ***
