DOB February 14, 2023 Once she trusts you Whimsy is extremely social and affectionate. She likes to be with you almost all of the time, either cuddling up against you or sleeping on top of you. When she is not with you she likes to have a high perch to relax in. Her two main spots are a bed at the top of a high cat tree and a window hammock. She is also very playful, and she needs a selection of toys as well as daily interactive playtime. She is especially active in the mornings (this is why having another cat to play with is particularly helpful). Whimsy is a very sweet and sensitive cat who has had a rough history but is finally learning that she is safe. She started out hiding, shaking, and flinching when approached but has developed into a wonderfully affectionate and playful companion. Whimsy used to have a brother and really needs to go to a home with another gentle and friendly cat (after being given a gradual introduction). She needs the company as well as someone to play with. She is a very sensitive cat and extremely skittish of any person other then those she bonds with. She will almost always stay hidden when any other people are in the house and she doesn’t let anyone else approach or touch her. She also gets scared easily by loud or sudden things (like the front door opening/closing, moving furniture, dropping things etc.) though she is slowly improving. Whimsy is an extremely affectionate and playful cat but she needs a calm, quiet, and consistent environment to thrive. Maine Coon cats require high protein and nutrient rich diets, and they often have sensitive stomachs. They also need regular brushing to keep their fur from being matted (though right now her fur is still growing back). Whimsy is an absolutely wonderful companion (and totally gorgeous!) and is looking for a quiet and calm home with another gentle feline so that she can finally have the safety and comfort she deserves.
