Zomi Deschanel may have arrived looking a little less Hollywood and a little more "I've been through some things," but her comeback era has officially begun!This sweet senior Maltese came to her finder completely matted, so underneath all that tangled fur was only one option: a fresh start and a very short haircut. Her beautiful Maltese coat will grow back, but we happen to think she's pretty darn cute in her current buzz-cut era too!Zomi is a gentle, sweet girl whose whole world has recently been turned upside down. She's still a little nervous and anxious as she figures out where she is, who all these new people are, and whether this new life is safe. Each day, though, she's settling in a little more and letting her sweet personality peek through. What she needs most is a patient family who will give her time to exhale and realize she's finally home.She's also a little hard of hearing, but she's definitely not deaf. She may not catch every sound, especially from a distance, but she does hear and responds to what's going on around her.And then there are Zomi's adorably wiggly hips! Her back end isn't quite as steady as it used to be, so if she gets going too fast or trots for too long, her hind legs can slip out from underneath her. She gets around and enjoys life, she just needs a family who understands that she's more of a leisurely stroll girl than a marathon runner these days.More than anything, Zomi Deschanel is a tender little senior trying to make sense of a very big life change. She's already showing us that underneath the nerves, the questionable haircut, and those wobbly little hips is an incredibly sweet girl who just wants to feel safe and loved.We think Zomi's next chapter should include soft beds, gentle hands, plenty of snacks, and a family who thinks senior girls deserve the star treatment!Zomi Deschanel is currently being fostered in Bryan, Texas, but don't let distance stop you!
