Flip Flop is young, playful, energetic, smart, and affectionate. He’s eager to learn, loves a good game of fetch, and is ready to find his forever family!
● Smart & eager to learn: He’s a bright little guy who is ready to keep learning and growing.
● Affectionate: Flip Flop has a loving side to go along with his playful personality!
● Fetch is his favorite! He loves playing fetch with a ball and would enjoy having someone to play with.
● Working on leash skills: He’s still learning his leash manners and may pull a little or tug at the leash with his mouth.
● Excellent potty habits in foster home. Routine is key!
● Crate routine: Flip Flop needs a little time and reassurance to settle into his crate, but he does eventually get comfortable. He’s a light sleeper and may wake during the night and whimper before settling back down. With patience, consistency, and a little time to adjust, he can continue building confidence in his nighttime routine.
● Car rides: He gets a little nervous during car rides and will benefit from positive experiences to help him become more comfortable.
● Cat-friendly potential: He’s getting along well with his foster family’s cat. A slow, controlled introduction to any new cat will be important.
● Grooming needs: Flip Flop will require regular grooming to keep him looking and feeling his best.
Flip Flop is a fun, affectionate little guy with so much potential! ❤️ He’s learning every day and will make a wonderful companion for a family willing to continue helping him grow.

Old Dominion Humane Society (ODHS) Adoption Process
- Complete our Adoption Survey on the Adopt page of our website at https://www.olddominionhumanesociety.org/adoption-survey to expedite the process and arrange a meet-and-greet. Expect a response within about a week; please check your spam folder. As we're 100% volunteer-run, your patience is appreciated!
Requirements And Donations
- Required Adoption Day Items: A martingale collar and a non-retractable leash (available for purchase at ODHS).
- Adoption Donations: Puppies (under 1 year): $375; Adults: $275; Seniors (age-dependent): $175; Select dogs: $500. We accept cash, debit, and credit cards.
- Adoption Radius: Within 350 miles of Fredericksburg, VA. A $50 out-of-state fee applies.
- Breed Identification: Dogs are listed as "Mixed Breed" unless formal documentation is available.
Location And Hours
- Visit our adoption center at 3602 Lafayette Blvd, Fredericksburg, VA 22408 during adoption hours: Wednesday 5-7 PM; Friday 6-8 PM; and Saturday 10AM-4PM.
