Story
Honey Bun is not a sweet cat. We can't lie to you and say that she will make a great companion. But she does need a new place to call home. She was trapped from an At Risk location, and we have good reason to believe she is not safe (if returned).    Now... the low-down on Honey Bun:   She has behaved aggressively in the trap and feels very threatened by people (but who can blame her?). Honey Bun is aloof in the field and doesnt tolerate contact.... she is a textbook feral cat.    Her feeder called us for help and she reports that Honey Bun's abdomen was largely distended and she felt the cat was pregnant. We must have asked dor left ear pictures three times and STILL couldnt tell, for sure. When we trapped her, we hoped the mystery would be solved... but alas...   We were STILL on the fence about her left ear and we couldn't decide if it was tipped or just withered. We dropped her off at Sheltering Hands after crying over the hypothetical kittens (yes, all weekend we were agonizing over this). We got the best phone call from the clinic a couple hours later...   Honey Bun is NOT pregnant. She is an ANCIENT community cat and she IS eartipped (though it isn't readily apparent). She is missing most of her teeth (which explains her perpetual blep) and she had two pellets lodged in her abdomen. The vet removed the pellets and sewed her up. She recieved all vaccines and a dose of Revolution. We had her chipped while she was under anesthesia and she is now awake and confused.    As you have read, she is not safe in this neighborhood . Her feeder told us that a neighbor had threatened to poison the cats and is just intolerant of their presence.     That's enough for us. We hate to see this happen because she would just as soon be back to her best life and out of the crate. She wants the familiar territory that she knows... but we cannot give that back to her in good conscience. We need a new arrangement for Honey Buns. She could be an outdoor cat or barn cat. She will likely not acclimate to indoor life, but we would be willing to attempt this (with the right foster) and under specific parameters to prevent us holding her as a hostage indefinitely (if taming her isn't possible). We are an Ocala FL, foster based rescue. Please submit a cat application (linked on our website) if you think you could help by offering Honey Buns a safe place to land and/or live out her days:) ##1992316##

Story
Hi there! My name is Shadow. Im a very sweet girl estimated to be 1-2 years old and I'm a manx! I was dumped at a gas station with my friends but thankfully I was rescued! I can be a little bit shy at first, but once I warm up to you I'll be your best friend! I love my belly beinh rubbed and head scratches are my FAVORITE! I'm a little bit on the chunky side but in a healthy way. I'm great with other cats and would do fine with dogs that give me space and that are mellow. I would love a quiet home to call my own. When things get too loud or too fast I get nervous. I would really love to find my forever family soon❤️

Story
Hello, my name is Michi and I’m a 2 year old tabby and solid white Manx cat. I’m a chunky girl that loves to nap in the sun and sprawl out with my tummy in the air. I love to play. I’m also a chatty kitty and love to have conversations with people. I chirp at birds and squirrels through the windows and tell them who’s boss. I’m looking for a forever home who loves to play and talk to me. I want loving parents who encourage my zoomies that I get every morning and will give me head rubs(especially near my ears). I’m afraid of doggos because I was traumatized as a kitten. I stay in high places and hide so the puppers can’t hurt me. I kind of tolerate others kitty cats but I don’t let them bully me. I’d prefer to be in a home with no other dogs or cats. I come with an automatic food dispenser, a cat carrier, and some small cat scratching posts. I am fixed and have a microchip that will be transferred to my new families name along with my medical records. Will you be my new family?

Story
I acquired Simba about 3 years ago. He was a kitten that a coworker found under her porch. He was very timid and would always hide behind me when I would sit down. As he grew he started being quite vocal. Many people advised me, once he was neutered, he would stop. He did not. It's gotten so bad he wakes me almost every night. No one can seem to figure out why he does this and it has really become too much for me. I think he needs a home that can give him a great amount of attention. I have 2 other cats and work multiple jobs and have children. I just cannot provide the kind of attention he is requiring. He is still timid, just very defensive around other animals. He won't do well with dogs, especially large ones. He tolerates other cats from a distance. However, when he does swat at them he never uses claws. He just kinda tries to paw them to death. He is quite a character. He just happens to be a very needy boy.
