Story
Softy is a sweet natured cat in need of a quiet, loving home. She is tolerant of our kids, dog, and other cat, but she struggles with anxiety. Toileting has been an issue for her since we adopted her 5+ years ago. She is litter trained, but her urine stream generally lands outside the litter box (even though she is standing in the box). Additionally, there are occasions in which she chooses not to use the litter box at all for urination. Though I suspect this has to do with anxiety (too much commotion), I cannot say this for certain. We have felt for a long time that softy would do better in a calmer environment but we’ve struggled with the idea of surrendering her for fear that her next family may put her down on account of her poor bathroom habits. she is such a sweet cat who likes to be around her companions (humans and pets) but prefers a calm living space free from commotion. She mainly stays on the floor but occasionally visits the sofa. She enjoys being pet but not being held.
