Manx kittens & cats in Maryland

Simi is a sweet little guy with-we'll be honest-some quirks that will require a special adopter to appreciate. He is loving and affectionate in his own way. For example, Simi will roll around when you approach ("Well hello, my friend!) and will head butt your hand ("Pet me!). He does enjoy pets and scritches, but ... after a minute or two, he may begin to worry about your hands, especially if you are new to him. This sweet guy previously lived in a home with a few kids and, as lovely as those kids were, some of them were pretty little and it seems that Simi found them very upsetting at times. This worry has caused Simi to feel, on occasion, the need to defend himself from approaching hands. He will need a patient, cat-savvy adopter who is interested in learning all about this boy, gaining his trust, becoming accustomed to his "pettability window," and helping him feel safe and secure so he can be his best self. Watching him gain confidence and a sense of security in his foster home has been wonderful. He is not at his best there because his fosters have other cats, which Simi finds concerning. But he's been doing great and has proven to be a resilient little guy. This boy absolutely must be an only animal and be in either an adult-only home (no visiting grandkids, please, unless you don't mind keeping Simi in a "sanctuary room" by himself during those visits) or a home with adults and teens. Simi is about 5 years old and weighs around 10 lbs. He is neutered and up to date on vaccinations. He tested negative for FIV and FeLV as a kitten and has been indoor-only since then. He had a dental in the past year.
