Story
JJ and Veda are sisters and have been together since birth. They were born in our fosters home. They were adopted as kittens and very happy in their home. The family recently got a puppy who herds them and is scaring one of them. So they family decided, unfortunately to give up the pair instead of the new dog. This is horrible for them. We are looking for a quiet home for them no annoying dogs a quiet home with a relaxing view. They are used to kids but not hyper dogs. The foster has other dogs and they are not annoying them, they are also with other cats and doing fine. Veda is a lover, very sweet and HAPPY and loves to be petted. Both are Manx's with no tail. We are looking for an indoor only, non smoking home. A home with a view of woods or fields are wonderful a screened in back porch would be heaven for them. They'd love a home with a catio. Veda warms up quickly, JJ is slower. For more information call or text me at 517 294 4514 or email me your phone number to marlas2468@yahoo.com

🐾 WELCOME HOME! 🐾 Bringing Your New Kitty Home: What to Expect Thank you for adopting and giving this kitty a second chance! Here’s what you need to know for a smooth transition: 🛏 Start Small Set your cat up in one quiet room with a litter box, food, water, and a hiding spot (like a covered bed or cardboard box). Let them explore slowly and on their terms. ⏳ Give Time Even the friendliest cats may be shy at first. Expect 3 days to decompress, 3 weeks to settle in, and up to 3 months to fully adjust. Be patient—they're learning to trust! It’s normal for cats to hide for the first 24–72 hours. Adult cats, especially, may take even longer to feel safe. As long as they’re eating, drinking, and using the litter box, hiding is okay! 🍽 Feed & Hydrate Keep food and water dishes in a quiet, accessible spot. Follow any diet info provided. Monitor eating, drinking, and litter box habits the first few days. 🚽 Litter Box Basics Show them where the box is right away. Keep it clean and use unscented, clumping litter unless otherwise noted. 🐱 Interactions Let your cat come to you. Avoid loud noises or too much handling early on. Use gentle voices and slow blinks to build trust. 🐕 Introducing to Other Pets? Slow and steady wins the race! Keep your new kitty separated at first and take your time with introductions. 🧸 Playtime & Enrichment Interactive toys, scratching posts, and window views help relieve stress and build confidence. Story
Hi, I’m Poppie. The tuxedo with the excellent whiskers, impeccable manners, and just a touch of sass. I’m about 3 years old and I’ve learned a lot about what I like in life. For example: • Freshly changed bed sheets (I will appear immediately) • Being picked up and carried like the royalty I am • A warm lap and a human who understands that I am both sweet and slightly opinionated I’m a very loving girl once I feel safe. I adore cuddling with my people and will happily settle into your lap to soak up attention. I’m not shy about affection—I just like things on my terms, like any respectable queen. I previously lived with a dog and… let’s just say that experiment has officially concluded. No dogs for me, please. I deserve a home where I can relax and not worry about canine nonsense. As for other cats, I could live with a calm, respectful kitty who understands that sometimes I may deliver a little sass. If they mostly mind their own business, we’ll probably get along just fine. What I really want is a peaceful home, patient humans, and plenty of cozy spots—especially if those spots involve freshly washed bedding. If you’re looking for a loving, snuggly tuxedo girl with personality, soft fur, and excellent taste in linens… I might just be your Poppie. Poppie is currently in a foster home. If you are interested in meeting her, please send a message here, or email adopt@ahsem.org. Adoption fees are as follows: $175 for a single cat or kitten, $225 for a pair of cats or kittens. When adopting a cat from AHSEM the adoption includes spay or neuter surgery, age appropriate core vaccines, microchipping, combo tested (for FIV/FeLV), and basic wellness care including deworming and flea treatment.
