We found Ebby at Meowza in the Dayton Mall in 2019. She’s very sweet and cuddly, and has a bit of anxiety. She’s seven years old, doesn’t really know what to think of kids, and loves sleeping next to her person. She gets along great with our other cat, as they play every day. Three kids now live in the house and it doesn’t seem to be good for her anxiety, as she’s urinating outside of the litter box every once in a while. Ebby likely needs a home without children, or perhaps one older child. I’ll be very sad to see her go, but I don’t think she’s living her best life in our house, with so much commotion.

This sweet little guy has been hanging around for a while. He looks to be around 4-5 months and is very loving. Unfortunately, we are unable to have cats and I am hoping to find this kitten a loving home before it gets too cold outside. He does great around my small children and is very docile. He has not been to the vet. If interested, I have a few supplies that would go with him.

Leona is a bob-tail Tortie who gets along with other catsTo start our adoption process, House of Mews Rescue asks that you please complete our online no-obligation adoption application, which is located on our website under the adopt tab at http://www.houseofmewsrescue.org/adopt.html  Should our adoption coordinator feel your application is a good fit, a HOM volunteer will reach out to discuss it with you.  Current on vaccinations, and have tested negative for both FIV ('Feline Immunodeficiency Virus') and FeLV (Feline Leukemia). Meet Leona: I’m a female, short-hair bob-tail Tortie that was born on May 05, 2025. I will be timid at first when meeting new people, but it only takes me a few days to warm up to my new surroundings! I have a lot of energy and like to use it by chasing and retrieving my favorite toys, jumping on and wrestling with my foster sister, and watching the birds outside of my window. I also like to pass the time by cuddling up on my foster dad’s lap, or jumping on top of my cat tree for a quick snooze. I have a toy mouse that is currently my favorite toy, but I haven’t been opposed to playing with anything that’s been thrown my way. Purrnado... Part tornado, part purr... He is a VERY vocal boy, loves to talk to you even though he seems to be entirely deaf -- he has learned to live with other cats and does very well with others. Purrnado sleeps like the dead, he is an incredibly sound sleeper. He definitely likes to be around people, and loves his special cushion where he naps the better part of the day. He LOVES the vacuum and will follow you around, simply fascinated. He looks like a bobtail kitty, but we believe that his tail is short due to an injury a long time ago. He does have a puffy nose that we haven't found an explanation for, but definitely gives him some character. He is estimated to be about 6 years old, and has a $100 adoption fee. All cats adopted through our rescue are age appropriately vaccinated including rabies & FVRCP/Feline Leukemia vaccines, dewormed & free of fleas, combo tested (negative unless otherwise noted), microchipped and spayed/neutered before adoptions are finalized. If you would like to adopt, please fill out the application through the link or the website at -www.whiskersofohio.org - please note that the "I'm interested" tab on Petfinder does NOT act as an application, this should only be used for specific questions before committing to an adoption. You will receive an email confirmation when your application goes through. We make no breed guarantees; we are a rescue, not a breeder. Please only apply for a specific kitten if you are committed to adopting! Our workers are all volunteers and it takes time to process applications. We are a registered, volunteer run 501c3 non-profit organization. Free transport is regularly available to Wayne/Holmes County areas! We do have the ability to fly a cat or pair of kittens via Southwest's SWATT program to any location served by Southwest Airlines. It isn't free but has been a great way to transport animals in a timely manner.
