Story
Spot is about 11 years old with a whole LOT of dog to love! He is a giant teddy bear, brimming over with adorableness and drool. Yep! You cannot expect to have a spotless home with him around, but he is so worth it! He is playful as ever, but is quite clumsy. Older kids would absolutely love hanging out with him! He has been a Ranch dog for a while and can strut his stuff around the property now and then, but due to his being picky about dog friends, he cannot enjoy roaming free unconditionally. We will be heartbroken to see him go, but we would love it more to see him have his very own family, his very own home, where he will be free to be himself. Always and unconditionally. We don’t know what breed he is, but our best guess would be a Mastiff and some American Staffordshire Terrier. What we do know is that he deserves nothing but the best, as do all our dogs! Older dogs are SO easy! While Spot may need a little help with potty training, as he has never lived in a home, he will learn faster than a puppy. Older dogs are pretty much ready to go! You can start going on walks from day one. You can socialize from day one and don’t have to wait for the full set of puppy vaccines. They are already spayed/neutered and up to date on all vaccines. They don’t keep nagging you for attention. You already know what they like or don’t like. They are visibly appreciative of all the good stuff you do for them. And the best part? You don’t have to keep money aside for new shoes (you know, to replace the ones the puppy chewed up?). Well, hopefully not! We will keep our fingers crossed on that one! Long story short, there’s nothing more fulfilling than giving an old dog a home. Spot has a piece of our hearts. We love this boy so very much! If you are even considering adopting him, we love you already! Please check with your landlord, if you rent, about breed and weight restrictions as well as restrictions on the number of pets you can have BEFORE you apply. All dogs and cats MUST be current on vaccines and MUST be spayed and neutered. No visitors allowed unless you are an approved adopter, volunteer, or foster. Please fill out an adoption application if you'd like to adopt Spot. www.luckysanimalrescue.com/adoption-app

Story
M - 3 years old - Siberian Husky/Mastiff Mix - Sam (formerly Lemonade) brings the just-right mix of silly and sweet. Whether he’s chasing toys, splashing in kiddie pools, or enjoying a good head scratch, he's always has a smile on his face. He takes treats gently, sleeps through the night (especially if he's sleeping next to his people), and politely stays off furniture. One of his favorite ways to unwind is chewing frozen Kongs, using lick mats, and playing with food puzzles which help him settle and focus. He does best when given constructive ways to burn both mental and physical energy. Sam is house trained and knows his basic commands and is eager to please, which makes continued training very doable. He is still working on crate training, but he’s making steady progress. He happily eats meals in his crate, goes in and out on his own, and can rest comfortably inside for a few hours or while his people run errands. He does well with other dogs. He has a very high prey drive too, so he must not be able to interact with cats, small animals, or livestock. Medically, he has been diagnosed with mild bilateral hip dysplasia and early arthritis in his left hip. With proper care, added supplements, weight management, and appropriate levels of activity, he can continue to enjoy an active, happy life. Sam is looking for a home that understands his energy, will continue his training, and is ready to give him the structure and enrichment he needs to thrive. ADOPT To adopt, come see us!
