You can fill out an adoption application online on our official website.Thor is a wonderfully, silly, happy, goofy boy! There is nothing about Thor that is unlikable; he thinks he's a lap dog so watch were you put your feet because he may just sit on them. He also can be protective so introductions should be supervised.  Upon arrival to his foster home, Thor was very shy and a little skittish until he warmed up to me. He was sad for awhile as well because he missed his family and needed time to adjust. We are looking for a furever home that has experience with the Mastiff breed. If you do not have previous experience please do not apply. Thor's personality is such that he needs to be part of a family. He is strictly an indoor dog and is not meant to be left in a yard; he can get destructive if left outside alone. He is the definition of a couch potato and has taken residence on my sectional. Please be aware that he drools (that's the breed) and so keeping your sofa covered is the best way to keep it clean. You can train him to stay on the floor but you need to provide him with a large enough bed for him to get his entire body onto, think human size. He is a great watch dog and will bark if someone comes close to the house.  He needs to be able to go to go outside and get some fresh air and run around a bit. Thor would love a companion dog to play with but he can be picky about his companion so introductions are necessary prior to adoption approval. He absolutely loves my little 10lb dachshund and they play very well together. Some larger dogs intimidate him; especially large black dogs. His current bestie is a 1 year old, male, pit-mix. He also eats about 4 cups of food a day which means he gets fed twice a day to prevent bloat, which this breed is particularly prone to. Overall, Thor is an amazing companion. He is very intelligent as well as extremely sensitive so shouting and loud noises scare him. He loves to go where you go and if he gets to ride in the car he will take up the entire back seat, lol! Please consider this goofy boy and give him a furever home. We are requiring that Thor's furever home have the following: ~A place in your home as an indoor dog so that he can socialize with family. ~An adopter with previous Mastiff experience.    Visit this organization's web site to see any additional information available about this pet.We encourage adopters from all over the Greater New England Area and will do our absolute best to accommodate you in arranging for transportation if you choose to adopt a dachshund from FDR. Meet Whitney Meet Whitney! A one-year-old Mastiff mix. Whitney came to our shelter as a transfer and is in need of your help! Whitney is a fun-loving dog who loves people. She's indifferent with other dogs and can be selective when choosing a playmate. She recently tested positive for Heartworm and is now on a journey to health and wellness while our medical team gets her well again. Thankfully heartworm is non zoonotic and cannot be passed to people but sadly left untreated it can be a fatal disease in our pets. Butte Humane Society is covering 100% of the cost for Whitney's heartworm treatment, she only needs a family to help support her while she gets well again. Every animal that comes to Butte Humane Society is screened for heartworms and put on prevention throughout their stay at the shelter. Additionally, our animals are evaluated by a veterinarian, spayed or neutered, provided with vaccines, microchipped, dewormed, and receive flea/tick preventatives prior to adoption. Zoey is a gorgeous huge mastiff/pitty mix. She is amazing with people and her previous home she lived with kids and a small dog. Zoey can be timid and nervous with other big dogs but is learning to work through that. UPDATE: ZOEY IS A SPECTACULAR DOG. The amazing intermountain mannered mutts took zoey in and she completed 30 days of training, has gone agility courses, dock diving classes, and is going to a dog show. She needs an amazing adopter that will continue to allow her amazing abilities to shine.
