Story
Meet Duchess! Loyal and protective Duchess is an excellent companion whether that be for a long walk or a peaceful lounge on the couch. She loves to be by your side at all chances that she has, after all she wants to be there for you. She's especially fond of the relaxing days in her home. Duchess is a 5-8 year old mixed breed, who was brought in to SCAA when her foster family could no longer provide that service. She is great with kids, however she cannot be in a home with cats. She thrives with attention from people, and can rather sad when left alone, this makes her best suited for a home with a family that can be with her most of the day. She does well on a leash, and is house trained. She weighs 114 lbs. Like all dogs at SCAA she is spayed, vaccinated and microchipped. If you would like to meet Duchess or learn more about her please reach out to SCAA at 208-267-7504. We hope to here from you soon!

Story
Meet this big, clumsy goofball with paws that don’t always know where they’re going. He’s still mastering his manners, so he’ll need an experienced dog person who’s comfortable with training and confident leash handling (first-timers, this big guy might knock you over—purely by accident). He can seem a little aloof at first, but add toys and treats and suddenly he’s a giant baby who lives for affection and has zero concept of personal space. He does have a big, booming bark that can be intimidating and he can be reactive through a fence, but it’s not aggression—just overexcitement and big feelings in a big body. He means no harm and settles with proper handling. He hasn’t been fully tested with cats or other dogs yet, but he’s willing to try with slow, thoughtful introductions. Because of his size, enthusiasm, and lack of personal boundaries, he’s not a great fit for homes with small kids—he loves too hard and knocks things over without realizing it. Fun fact: when chasing a ball, he trips and falls about every ten minutes, then pops back up like nothing happened. With the right experienced owner, patience, and continued training, this lovable oaf has the potential to be an incredibly loyal, affectionate companion. Before considering adopting please make sure to have the proper time, resources and LOTS of space to care for me for the rest of my life.
