I've got a big heart, enough to share with other dogs, big or small, as long as they're kind. I'm not one for roughhousing, I prefer a gentler approach. I'm quite friendly, always ready to share a sweet moment or two. I am strong, not just physically, but also in spirit. I believe in love, in second chances. A26156 Max is a brindle colored, approximately 3-year-old, 78-pound, neutered male, Mastiff / Pitbull mix. He entered the shelter as an owner surrender on 03-08-2025 due to the fact his new job requires travel, leaving him no time to care for Max. Max is a friendly, eager and excited boy here at the shelter. He is excited and happy when you first approach his kennel door and ready to come out and play. He loves people and will excitedly jump up on you for hugs and kisses. Our staff describes him as a gentle giant who loves people and wants all your attention. He was easy to leash but is a strong puller and will yank you around trying to see and smell everything. He will need leash training to be his best, but he is treat motivated and smart. He has had some training and will “sit” upon command, especially if you have a treat. He has a friendly interest in other dogs here at the shelter. The previous owner says he is house broken and has lived with children, but not dogs or cats. He further said that he was great with his kids, and he doesn’t mind other dogs. He does have a chicken allergy and will get very sick if he eats any. Max will be a fun-loving, loyal family member in his new forever home.

He is very loyal to his family and will always be there to provide comfort and companionship. Barret is very attentive, and always eager to please those around him. He needs to be the only dog in the home where he can be the center of attention and receive all the love and care he deserves. Plus he makes a great co-pilot because he loves going on car rides, he is excellent at sitting in one spot and enjoying the fresh air! This handsome boy is more than ready to be the newest addition to your family!
