He was saved from a local shelter and has spent his time since then in professional training, working hard every single day to become the incredible companion he is now. He’s currently being boarded and, despite everything, still greets every new person with hope. This big softie is affectionate, goofy in the best way, and truly wants nothing more than to belong to someone. Hello, nice to meet you. I’m OTIS. And yes… I do have a story. 📖🐾 I started out at the pound, waiting patiently like so many good dogs do, hoping someone would choose me. One day, they did. I was over the moon, tail wagging, heart wide open. Freedom at last. But my happy ending didn’t come then. The person who adopted me didn’t actually have a home. So instead of a couch and a food bowl, I went from the pound… to the streets. For 10 long months, I survived on my own. No one really knows how I managed, but I did. When this rescue realized what had happened, they were heartbroken. They were trying to line up a foster for me, but this person got to me first. Fast forward months later, when a volunteer spotted me on another shelter’s Facebook page. One message. One alert. And suddenly everything changed. The director jumped into action, and just like that, I was finally safe. And here I am. ❤️ Despite everything, I’m still the same big, goofy, gentle soul. A little scuffed up on the outside maybe, but my heart never hardened. I still love people. I still trust. I still believe my forever human is out there. Romy is a sweet three year old Frenchie who loves everyone! Romy is a loving “velcro” pup, she wants to be close to her people all the time! She loves other dogs, kids, strangers, and every person she meets. Romy wants nothing more than to be loved, and petted, and snuggled all the time! She is a healthy girl, with the normal Frenchie considerations —her breathing can be heavy when she is stressed, in extreme heat, or after long walks. Romy has been fully vaccinated, spayed and given a clean bill of health by our vet. She is quiet (other than the classic adorable Frenchie snore!), Romy is house trained, non-destructive, and generally very well behaved. She has the most loving personality and wants to sit by your side while you work on the computer or watch TV. She loves to play with other calm dogs, and would be great in a home with another dog. Romy is a happy girl that would be a wonderful addition to any family who has the time to give her the love and attention she needs and deserves.
