Arrival story: It’s a long, sad story of bouncing around from place to place. We know there is a Georgie devotee out there, though!
Approximate age / Weight: About 3 yrs old / 50 lbs.
Personality: Meet Georgie, the 50-pound sweetheart with a perfectly placed brown eye patch and a heart that’s somehow stayed soft through every twist life has thrown at him. This gentle bully breed mix has been bounced around far more than any dog should be, but he’s still hopeful, still willing to trust, and still ready to love the person who finally loves him back.
Georgie is a belly rub connoisseur and a champion fetch enthusiast—whether you toss his favorite ball, a beloved stuffy, or anything that squeaks (oh yes, he LOVES a good squeaker), he’s ready to play. When playtime winds down, you’ll find him happily nesting himself into a cozy pile of blankets like the comfort-loving little burrito he is.
Around the house, Georgie has lovely manners and a wonderfully charming “woo-woo” alert bark that lets you know he takes his role as watch dog seriously—without being overly chatty about it. He’s easygoing about having his ears or paws handled, and he’s learning helpful cues like touch, find it, and come. He’s a bright boy who genuinely wants to get it right.
*After everything he’s been through—rescue, shelter life, being a stray, and too many false starts—Georgie is understandably cautious. He’s finding his footing again and will need a patient family who gives him time, space, and consistency to fully settle in. Car rides aren’t his favorite yet, and he’ll benefit from some medical or behavioral support for that piece, but he tries so hard in every other way.
New Home: What Georgie wants most is simple: a home where he’s safe, understood, and finally stays. If you’re looking for a loyal companion with a tender spirit, a goofy side, and a heart looking for its forever match, Georgie just might be your guy.
