Story
This hot mess express had his vet appointment yesterday. Me.Snuggles came to us from Georgia last week after being rescued from an high kill animal shelter. They gave him 48 hours to find rescue before he was euthanized because they suspected he had a broken pelvis. We took a leap of faith and committed to Snuggles and his mystery injuries…and we don’t regret it one bit 🥹 Snuggles was diagnosed with a grade 4 luxating patella in both knees. His elbows on his front legs are also deformed. We were told Snuggles is a medical disaster , and possibly inbred, but otherwise in decent condition. We learned whoever had him before us, neglected his health tremendously. He is emaciated (gained 4 pounds since being in rescue) which resulted in skin issues from malnutrition. His future family can expect regular trips to the vet to monitor his joint health. While he gets around like any other dog, happy and playful, he will most likely have severe arthritis in all 4 of his legs. As much as we would love to say he’s an easy adoption…we will have to make sure his family is set up for these future vet costs. This is not a pup for just anyone If you are interested in Snuggles, please consider our vet’s advice. While French bulldogs are a sought after breed, this is not the time to adopt your first frenchie. Our boy is special and deserves the best life his first family didn’t provide him. He gets along with dogs, chases cats but just wants to play (and curious), gets along with small children, and crate trained. He is NOT housebroken. Overall, he is incredibly sweet and a wonderful companion. He loves toys and will carry them all around the house , very proudly! https://adopt.animalsfirst.com/animal/66b189c45d6f9afa2c07afb8/6988d3583917a17fc201d3a3
