Meet Nessa – Your Chatty, Couch-Loving Companion. At 8 years young, Nessa is a resilient little lady with a big personality and an even bigger heart. She came into our care with an injury that required a leg amputation, but don’t let that fool you—this brave Miniature Pinscher hasn’t let it slow her down one bit! She’s embraced her second chance and is ready to find a home to call her own. Nessa has been thriving in foster care, where she’s shown herself to be happiest lounging on the couch, keeping an eye on the world, and enjoying the simple comforts of home. She loves her toys—especially stuffies, balls, and chew bones—and has been more than happy to share them with her furry housemates. She currently lives peacefully with two dogs and two cats who are calm and respectful, and is generally quite indifferent to them, making her a great option for a respectful multi-pet home. While she hasn’t been around children yet, a calm, respectful environment would likely suit her best. This little lady does have a voice and isn’t afraid to use it. She will bark when visitors arrive and can be quite vocal when left alone, often whining and barking for a period of time before settling. Because of this, she is not suitable for apartment living and would do best in a home where some noise is not a concern and she can be supported through her alone-time routine. Nessa is also a very enthusiastic foodie—she absolutely loves treats and will happily try to convince you that any human food is hers too (she is quite the little beggar!). While her charm makes it hard to resist, she will need continued guidance to stay on her own diet and focus on her “dog food food” to help support a healthy lifestyle and overall wellbeing. On walks, she is a happy explorer who enjoys getting out and about and does well on leash, though she can be reactive to people and other dogs, expressing herself with barking and pulling. This is something her future family should be prepared to continue working on with patience and consistency. Nessa is house trained when kept on a consistent routine, though she may have accidents if left alone for longer than about 8 hours. She prefers the freedom of being loose in the home and doesn’t enjoy being kenneled, as she finds it stressful and has trouble settling. The good news?
