Name: Scooter         Best Guess for Breed:  Poodle and Bichon Frise mix  Best Guess for Age:   10 years as of April 2024        SEX:  Male   Approximate Weight:  20 lbs   Gets Along With:   Other dogs! We haven't seen him with kids or cats but he can be tested   Currently Living at:  South Carolina shelter; needs a foster or forever home in the DC area to get his freedom ride up here!   Scooter is Looking For:   His forever home! This little guy ended up in the shelter at around ten years of age. That's sad - but happier days are ahead for him. He's eager to once again have his humans to love. Quality kibble and a cushy dog bed are on his wish list as well - and definitely daily brushing and regular grooming. Mats hurt!  Scooter may be a little older and have the beginnings of the usual old-dog stuff but - his heart and brain are working just fine and that little heart is eager to know whom to bestow all those adoring gazes upon, who he gets to snuggle up to. What do you say? Are you the one who will give Scooter his much-deserved soft landing - and get all that wonderful loyal companionship in return?   What My Foster Says About Me:   We will update this once he has arrived in the DC area and spent some time with his foster Lucky Dog cannot guarantee any dog is housebroken.  All of our dogs are working on their crate training.  TO ADOPT:      The adoption fee for this dog is $375, which includes the cost of routine vetting, including vaccinations and spay/neuter. TWIN STAR NEEDS A FOREVER HOME!!!!   Come meet Twin Star and other great adoptable dogs this Sunday (April 28th) from 12-3 pm at the Petsmart in Silver Spring (12020 Cherry Hill Rd, Silver Spring, MD 20904)!   Name: Twin Star         Best Guess for Breed: Poodle mix Best Guess for Age:   10 years as of April 2024        SEX: Female   Approximate Weight:  18.4lbs   Gets Along With:   Twin Star does well with other dogs. We haven't seen her with kids or cats but she can be tested once she has arrived in the DC area  Currently Living at:  DC area foster home.   Special adoption considerations:  Twin Star is from a hoarding/cruelty situation, and was very scared at rescue. She was placed in a short term foster home then hopped on a flight to the DC area on 4/13 and has been making great strides! We think she will benefit from being in a home with a welcoming resident dog or having numerous opportunities to be around other dogs in various environments - they will show her how to dog in new places! Extra patient and loving humans are definitely needed.    Twin Star is Looking For:  For a loving home that delivers all the sweet things her rescuers whispered in her ear.... 'You're safe now, sweet girl. The life you deserve starts now. You get lots of love, quality kibble, a cushy dog bed - and a warm lap if you'd like too. You're safe now, sweet girl.'   Twin Star was rescued from a hoarding/cruelty case and landed in a massive south Texas shelter that routinely has 1200-1500 animals in their care; her chances of being adopted in that area are, well, low to nil. She likely will be nervous in new environments and is eager to get her own humans - ones who get that she might need extra support during her adjustment and give her all the love and patience she needs. And what do they get in return? An incredibly sweet and loving dog with an enormous stockpile of adoring gazes and loyal companionship to offer. Sure, Twin Star may be 10 but small dogs tend to live longer and she's looking forward to all those days in her new chapter.    What do you say? Will you help her write it?
