Story
Cali, 3 years old, spayed female, Shih Tzu mix, 19 pounds. She is in a foster home in HOUSTON, TEXAS and is able to transport to an adopter once approved.
We picked up Cali when we were helping another abandoned dog out in the dumping fields outside of Houston. The networker who works this area, messaged us that other dogs were harassing her. She scooped her up and she's been with us ever since.

Cali is the definition of an easy, loving companion. She lives harmoniously with dogs of all sizes and truly enjoys the company of others, whether they’re big, small, or somewhere in between. She’s not looking for drama—just a peaceful home where everyone gets along, and she fits right in.
Her heart, though, belongs to her people. Cali is incredibly affectionate and forms strong bonds with her humans. At the end of the day, her favorite place isn’t a dog bed—it’s right next to you, curled up and content. If you’re looking for a loyal shadow who will happily keep you company, Cali is your girl.
She’s fully housebroken and comfortable in a crate when needed, making her an easy addition to just about any home. Cali has a low to moderate energy level—she’s not overly playful, but she enjoys getting out for walks and then settling in for some quality relaxation time.
Cali is also wonderful with children and currently lives with kids as young as five years old. She is gentle, patient, and respectful, making her a great fit for a family environment.
While she hasn’t been tested with cats, her easygoing nature suggests she may do well with proper introductions.

Please note our process starts with an application. If we think you might be a good fit, we will reach out to coordinate a phone interview. This is followed by a video call with the foster home. Virtual home visit, personal and vet reference checks are required to complete the process. Transport is included in our adoption donation.
