Story
Hi! I’m Zed — nice to meet you! I’m a 2 ½-year-old neutered male with quite the family tree. My dad was a Husky/Poodle mix and my mom was a Labradoodle, which means there are a few things you should know about me right off the bat: I shed, I am NOT hypoallergenic, and I will require regular grooming. But trust me… I’m worth it! For the first 2 ½ years of my life, I was a very loved boy with an amazing mama. Unfortunately, our lives were turned upside down when she faced a serious health concern. She tried her very best, but eventually realized she wasn’t able to give me everything I needed. As hard as it was, she put my happiness and well-being first and entrusted me to the good folks at the MJHS to find my next forever family. Since arriving, I’ve been busy making friends! I was getting a little shaggy, so I headed over to the awesome gals at Spike Grooming for a much-needed spa day. Guess what? I made FOUR new human friends while I was there! They were kind and gentle, gave me the time I needed to feel comfortable, and before long I was right at home. And did you know they have a cat? Well… I made friends with him too! That’s pretty much how I roll. I can be a little nervous when I first meet someone, but give me some time, patience and gentle encouragement and it doesn’t take me long to warm up. I’ve become friends with the dog kenneled beside me, I loved Earl the cat at Spike Grooming, and I’ve made human friends of all sizes since coming to the MJHS. My perfect family will understand that I may need a little space while I settle in. If there are children in my new home, they should be able to understand and respect that too. I’m looking for people who don’t mind a little dog hair in their lives and who are committed to having me professionally groomed approximately every 2–2 ½ months so I can keep looking — and feeling — my very best. In return? You’re going to get one pretty fantastic new BFF. My adoption fee is $400. I’m neutered, started on my vaccination schedule and microchipped. Wanna be my new best friend? Head to www.mjhs.ca to submit your application to come meet me. I’ll be waiting!
