Meet Ashby — Your Loyal Little Shadow
At 6.5 years young and 19 pounds, Ashby is a Mini Schnauzer with a gentle heart and one big goal in life: be wherever his people are. If you’ve been looking for a constant companion who thinks couch cuddles are a competitive sport, Ashby is ready to apply for the position.
Ashby is a sweet, devoted boy who bonds deeply with his humans. He’s the kind of dog who just wants to exist in your orbit — whether that’s relaxing on the couch, following you around the house, or heading out for a nice stroll around the neighborhood.

Ashby has low energy overall, but don’t mistake that for boring — he gets genuinely excited about walks and quality time with his people. Food is definitely his love language, which makes continuing training nice and easy.

Ashby is such a polite boy that he doesn’t even jump on the couch… but he would very much appreciate a little boost so he can snuggle beside you. Honestly, we respect a king who waits to be invited.

Ashby can be vocal when he hears noises or sees new people, but he responds well to correction and settles when told “no.” He may be a little shy at first, but warms up quickly once he feels safe.
Ashby gets along well with other dogs and would do fine with respectful kids who understand how to be gentle with him. He would do best in a home where someone is around more often than not. He thrives on companionship and wants to be part of daily life, not just a background character.
A fenced yard would be wonderful for him, along with regular walks to keep him happy and confident.

All of our animals are fully vetted, which includes spay/neuter, up to date on vaccines, wormed, heartworm tested and treated if necessary, up to date on flea/tick/heartworm prevention, and microchipped prior to adoption.
Our requirements are non-negotiable and include the following:
All current pets in the home must be spayed or neutered if over 6 months of age, unless there is a documented medical exemption with veterinary confirmation.
All current dogs must be up to date on Rabies and Distemper/Parvo (DHPP) vaccinations.
All current dogs must be on consistent, consecutive heartworm prevention.
Past dogs listed on the application must also show a consecutive history of heartworm prevention.
