Story
Meet Doc Martin (“Marty”), an adorable little male Yorkshire Terrier with a big personality packed into a tiny body! At 9½ years old, Marty is a distinguished gentleman in good health who still has plenty of love to give. Like many irresistibly cute small dogs, Marty may have been told “yes” a few too many times in life — and as a result, he can be a bit of a spoiled brat. He tends to be snarky or nippy with new people and in situations like vet or grooming visits. But once he feels safe and comfortable, his true personality shines through — and he becomes a total sweetheart. Marty gets along well with other dogs, except he will attempt to steal their food and treats. He hasn’t been tested with cats. Because he can be nippy, he is not recommended for homes with children under 10 years old. What Marty truly needs is a confident, consistent adopter who: Can be firm but loving; won’t coddle unwanted behavior; will help him understand that he’s not the king of the universe. If you’re ready to give this charming little gentleman the structured, loving home he deserves, please submit an adoption application online at: https://www.mistyeyes.org/adoptionapplication.

Story
Gary is a sweet, friendly little 10 year old Yorkie-mix who was found in deplorable condition as a stray and taken to the local shelter. Due to his age and condition, the shelter asked for assistance, so Misty Eyes brought him into our foster program to provide him treatment he needed. On intake, he was extremely dirty, flea-infested, anemic and malnourished. He has been on a regulated, nutritious diet to improve his condition and has been treated for a parasite induced skin infection. Gary tolerates other dogs and even cats, but would be fine as an only pet. He prefers to be with his person/people, enjoys lounging in his doggy bed and is friendly with visitors. He is fine with older children who understand to be gentle with him. He has good house manners if he`s on a regular schedule for potty breaks. If you are seeking a sweet, friendly little companion who doesn`t require a lot of exercise or play time, please submit an adoption application online at https://www.mistyeyes.org/adoptionapplication.
