Location -Wayside’s Canine Behavior Center – I`d love to show off all the cool things I’ve learned at Wayside! Please arrive at the shelter before 4pm on our open adoption days to meet me! My Friends at Wayside say: - I am from a puppy mill situation. I will likely need extra time to adjust to home life. I have lived with other dogs but have not socialized with people. Things like walking on a leash and going through doorways can be challenging for me. Adopting me will be extremely rewarding, but I need time to learn. -I am enrolled in Confidence College. This is a program for dogs to build confidence and learn that the world is not so scary. My adoption comes with a free 30-minute private training session. -I am eligible for a Slumber Pawty, a 7-10 day in-home trial period. Please visit our website for additional information. -How secure is your fence? I can slip through small holes in fences!-I enjoy cuddling up in a cozy bed!My home needs are: -I need a home that already has another confident dog living in it, so they can show me the ropes. I will acclimate much easier with a dog friend around.-I must meet other dogs in the home before adoption, as I enjoy hanging out over playtime. Please arrive at the shelter before 4pm on our open adoption days so we can meet!-I need a home with kids 6 years old and older since I tend to be nervous around new people and loud noises.-How secure is your fence? I need a home with a secure fence, as I am still learning to walk on leash. -For my safety, I need to go home on an anti-slip collar called a martingale collar. For your convenience, we sell them in our retail store, Whiskers and Wags. -New people and things make me a little nervous. Wayside recommends that I have a low traffic home.-For my safety, I need to go home with you in a travel crate in the car. You can bring one with you, or we have ones for sale in our retail store, Whiskers and Wags.Hiya, I’m Liam I’m a 5-year-old Maltese who’s just beginning to learn what life outside of a puppy mill can be like. The world is still pretty new and sometimes scary for me, so I’ll need a patient, understanding home that’s willing to give me plenty of time and space to decompress and build confidence at my own pace. I just need someone to believe in me… could that be you? Some everyday things, like walking on a leash or going through doorways, can be challenging right now, but
