He is currently working on building his confidence and learning to feel safe in new surroundings.Arrow can be scared by outside noises, especially when he is somewhere unfamiliar. Inside a home, however, he is much more comfortable and relaxed. He does best with a patient person who will give him time to settle in, build trust and discover his confidence at his own pace.Once Arrow feels safe, you’ll see the sweet little dog underneath that uncertainty. He doesn’t need someone looking for a dog who is immediately outgoing. Shells is a sweet 12-pound girl who came to Boxers and Buddies from the same group as Rocket. Like the other dogs from this group, Shells appears to have had very limited experience with the outside world and is still learning that new things can be safe.Shells is very slow to open up and will need time to decompress in her new home. She can be easily rattled by unfamiliar noises and may retreat or seek out a quiet, safe place when she feels overwhelmed. Her new family will need to be patient and allow her to build trust at her own pace rather than expecting her to immediately become comfortable.Shells is looking for someone who understands that she isn't a grab-and-go kind of dog. She needs a calm home, gentle encouragement, and someone willing to let her discover the world one small step at a time.With time, patience, and a safe place to call home, we hope Shells will gain confidence and let her sweet personality shine.We require professional obedience training from a certified trainer for ALL adoptions. Rocket is a sweet, cautious little girl weighing just 9 pounds. She came to Boxers and Buddies after her owner could no longer care for her, along with her siblings, mother, and father.Rocket is quite shy when she first meets people and will need some time to feel comfortable and learn to trust. We’ve also discovered that she and the other dogs in her group likely didn’t have much experience with the outside world. New noises and unfamiliar surroundings can be scary for her. Although she has started venturing into the backyard, she will sometimes retreat under a chair where she feels safe.Rocket is not a grab-and-go kind of dog. She needs a family who understands that building trust takes time and who will let her settle in at her own pace. Once she feels safe, we expect her sweet personality will continue to shine.We think Rocket could do well with other dogs who are respectful of her space and don’t overwhelm her by getting right in her face. A calm canine companion may help her continue building confidence and learning that new experiences can be fun.Rocket is looking for a patient family who will give her the time, understanding, and encouragement she needs. She may need a little extra time to find her confidence, but we think she’ll be worth the wait.We require professional obedience training from a certified trainer for ALL adoptions.
