Story
Rosco may have a bit of history with the shelter, but don’t let that worry you! Through absolutely no fault of his own, this handsome guy has found himself back with us a couple of times since 2023 while still searching for the perfect match. The good news? He has remained a cheerful, and we can confidently say he’s a pretty awesome dog. Rosco has lived with other dogs in the past with no issues reported, and here at the shelter he tends to mind his own business and take life as it comes. If you already have a dog at home, we’re always happy to arrange a meet-and-greet before adoption. Based on what we’ve seen, Rosco may be most comfortable with a female canine companion. One thing we’ve learned about Rosco is that he absolutely loves getting out and exploring the world. Thanks to his Miles & Mutts adventures, he’s discovered a passion for hiking trails, outdoor adventures, and spending quality time with his people. Whether it’s a walk through the woods or a leisurely afternoon together, Rosco is happiest when he’s making memories with someone he loves. And yes—Rosco has a little husky in him, which means he’s got opinions! He’s known to be quite the conversationalist and will happily “chat” with you about his day. It’s all part of his charming personality and one of the many reasons people root for him. Rosco has great manners overall and responds well to gentle guidance and redirection. He appears to be potty trained, consistently keeping his kennel nice and clean. He already knows cues like sit and down, and he walks well on a leash. While he can occasionally get excited and pull, he redirects easily and settles right back into a nice walk. We don’t know if Rosco has lived with children before, but we can tell you that he has been friendly with everyone he’s met so far. With slow and thoughtful introductions, we anticipate him doing well in many family situations. After spending time searching for the right fit, Rosco is more than ready to find a place to call home for good. He’s a loyal, fun-loving, adventure-ready companion who has so much love to give. If you’re looking for a dog who can be your hiking buddy, conversation partner, and best friend all in one, Rosco just might be your perfect match.
