Story
Hi friends! My name is Rena ('Macarena' in Mexico) and here's more about me: PHYSICAL INFO: Breed: Mountain Cur mix Age: approx 8 months Gender: Female Weight: 30lbs (14 kg)  Current Location: Guadalajara Mexico RESCUE STORY - Like my mama Allegra and my sister Zena (both adoptable through WCP!), I was living on the street where I was born and was found trying to hunt for food out of a trash can. I was very small and my rescuer was watching me as I would wander down onto the road where trucks were passing by, I was truly in danger and may not have lasted much longer if she hadn't scooped me and my sister up right then and there! My rescuer took me to work - a real adventure - and looked after us in her office until she was able to go back later for our mama, just as she had promised to. After that, I was fortunate to quickly find a foster home with my sis and we were set to be adopted when the adopter informed us she had changed her mind. What?! Due to no fault of our own we are now living at a kennel as we wait for our furever families to come find us! TEMPERAMENT - All the hoomans have described me as a very sweet and sociable pup, just like my mama. Being a puppy, I love all toys and am very food-motivated. I also loooove to play and have contact with hoomans, despite it all I think they're just the best!. Ialso really enjoy being around other doggies. I am a confident little girl and I adapt quickly to a new place when treated with love and kindness. ENERGY LEVEL - Medium - High GETS ALONG WITH: Kids – Unknown but testing can be requested! Dogs –  Yes! I enjoy being around other pups and live with many at the kennel. Cats – Unknown PREY DRIVE - Unknown. I’m not too sure how I’ll react around squirrels/rabbits etc. My adopter needs to be prepared and willing to train me through these behaviours, should they arise. TRAINING: Leash skills – My rescuers say I am okay with my leash skills, however I may need some additional patience and training :) House trained – My rescuer says I am okay with this but I may need some additional training and patience.  Crate trained – My rescuer says I am okay with this but I may need some additional training and patience.  Car rides – My rescuer says I am okay with this but I may need some additional training and patience.  Please Note: WCP highly encourages adopters to do some research and training on their own before their dog arrives.  HEALTH NOTES:  I am spayed and vaccinated. NOTE: It is not uncommon for rescue dogs to require dental work/cleaning after they are adopted. West Coast Paws does not cover the costs of dental work and/or vet visits. These costs are the financial responsibility of the adopter. ADOPTION FEE: My adoption fee is $840.00 CAD including tax (5% GST, 7% PST), which includes my airfare, if a flight volunteer is found directly to Vancouver. ------------------------------------- DISCLAIMER: Please visit wcpdogrescue.com to read about West Coast Paws Dog Rescue and it's adoption process. Story
Hi friends! My name is Zena ('Zuri' in Mexico) and here's more about me: PHYSICAL INFO: Breed: Mountain Cur mix Age: approx 8 months Gender: Female Weight: 33lbs (15 kg)  Current Location: Guadalajara Mexico RESCUE STORY - Hey! You're probably wondering how I got here, right? Yup, me too! Well my mama Allegra (also available for adoption through WCP!) was abandoned by her previous 'family' and living on the streets. That's where I was born, right under one of those cars that was undergoing repairs - the safest place she could find for us. I was lucky enough to be rescued by an angel hooman and then go to a foster home with my sister, Rena. After some time, we were moved to a kennel and although it's nice and all, and we do get to play with other pups, I sure am ready for a furever family of my own! TEMPERAMENT - Like any good puppy, I do get the zoomies and I looooove toys. I am a very sweet little pup - I take after my mama! - but I can be a bit shy at first. When I first got to my foster home I was a timid little bundle of fluff but now that I've gotten older I find that I can adjust more quickly to new environments, like the kennel. I am a very playful doggo and I really like playing with other dogs, especially my sister Rena! I also love running in nature and playing in the water.  ENERGY LEVEL - Medium - High GETS ALONG WITH: Kids – Unknown but testing can be requested! Dogs –  Yes! I enjoy playing with other pups especially my sister.
