Mountain Cur puppies and dogs in Vermont

Rocco has a reputation, and it’s a very good one! Ask his foster family their favorite thing about him and settle in, because choosing just one apparently isn’t possible. Easygoing, friendly, smart, a good companion, a lovely houseguest—the list keeps growing! Rocco Good Company is the kind of dog who makes you think, “Oh, there you are. You’re my dog.” Go watch Rocco on the Three Little Pitties Rescue YouTube channel to see his handsome brindle self, his good manners, and the boy his foster family can’t say enough nice things about: https://youtu.be/9lMOklycPhI There’s something so lovable about a dog who enjoys an ordinary day and that's Rocco! A little playtime with a dog friend, find a comfortable place to relax, and a full celebration when his people come home. His welcome includes happy bouncing and a little conversation, which is a pretty nice reception after a long day. Once you’re settled, he’s ready to settle, too. He has excellent “let’s hang out” energy. Rocco is fostered in a loving home with a wide variety of dogs and brings lovely manners to his friendships. He greets new dogs calmly on leash, has done well in a daycare setting, and comfortably shares attention with other pups. He’s also polite at treat time, waiting his turn while everyone gets a little something. A medium- to low-energy dog who enjoys some playtime and plenty of lounging could be a wonderful companion for him. And speaking of treats, Rocco would like to confirm that he is available for snacks. He takes them gently and happily shows off his sit, down, and shake. He’s smart, eager to participate, and very pleased when his efforts earn a reward. Teaching him something new could be a fun little part of your day together. He has the everyday outings covered, too. Rocco walks nicely on leash, rides well in the car, and can hop in on his own. Whether you’re heading to a park or taking a drive together, he’s happy to come along. He’s a lovely size for a companion dog, with plenty of presence beside you and a relaxed approach to spending time together. With new people, Rocco offers friendly greetings and lets the closer bond develop as he gets acquainted. Give him a little time to learn your routine and discover his favorite spot, and you’ll get to know the affectionate couch companion his foster family loves. He has been around young children and done well, so a family home could be a lovely fit. He could also enjoy apartment life, where permitted, with regular walks and time with his people. His future home does need to be cat-free. We estimate Rocco to be about three years old and a Black Mouth Cur mix , though his age and breed are our best guesses. His foster family’s enthusiasm comes from knowing him in all those everyday moments that matter- relaxing at home, spending time with the other dogs, hopping in the car, and welcoming his people back. He’s good company through all of it. Ready to make Rocco part of your everyday? This dog is in Tennessee. Adoption Donation $200 if picked up in TN, $275 plus transport fee for out-of-state adoptions. Gunner believes with his whole heart that the best place in the world is wherever you happen to be. This gentle Mountain Cur mix is about 7.5 months old and weighs 45 pounds, carrying a low-medium energy level with a big, loving heart. He lives for being petted and loved on, and honestly, that would be his whole world if he could get it. He enjoys playing with his foster puppy sibling and lazily chasing a ball, and he is still a little uncoordinated during fetch, which only adds to his charm. He is quiet by nature and sleeps soundly through the night. Gunner is fully housetrained with no accidents in his foster home, and he did well riding in a crate in the car. He is learning to sit for meals and is working on putting his feet up on a retaining wall to get pets instead of jumping, since his enthusiasm for affection sometimes gets the better of him. He is also making great progress on leash walking, and is now confidently walking around the fields near his foster home. He does well with other dogs and has shown curiosity toward the goats, though his intentions there are still a bit of a mystery. Gunner is not a good fit around chickens as he has shown stalking behavior toward them. Gunner would thrive in a home where he gets to be involved in everyday family life and stay close to his people, he truly is a velcro dog at heart. A fenced yard is strongly recommended to keep him safe and happy. If you are looking for an affectionate, gentle dog who wants nothing more than to be by your side, Gunner would love to meet you. Reach out to A.A.R.F. by text at 931-260-8018 or visit www.aarf-tn.com to start the application process. Meet this dog at Petco on Saturday, Nov 7th from 1-4 pm CST at Petco, 377 W. All canines over the age of 6 months have been tested for heartworm. All canines are put on heartworm prevention as soon as possible - this means dogs as soon as they are tested negative. Puppies are put on prevention immediately. All felines, regardless of age, have been tested for Feline Leukemia/FIV. Each animal receives a health check by a licensed veterinarian prior to adoption. Anything else found will be treated by our organization prior to adoption. November 2, 2026, 3:58 pm

Hey there — I'm Rookie, a brindle (just look at my cinnamon swirl coat} Mountain Cur pup with a heart as big as my adventures! 🐾 You'll spot me by my white chest, three white feet, and a cute white-tipped tail —I'm good with other dogs and cats, so I'll fit right into multi-pet homes, and I'm heartworm negative and ready to grow with your family. I'm full of energy and love, and I'm looking for people who want a loyal, smart buddy to share all life's best moments with. 💕 let's start our adventure together!

I'm Rue, a 3-year-old brindle Mountain Cur girl with a heart as big as my energy! 🐕 I'm spayed, housetrained, and heartworm negative — ready to jump right into your life. I'm shy at first but once i get to know you I'm affectionate and playful, and I genuinely enjoy the company of other dogs, so I'd thrive in an active home where we can play and explore together. Whether it's a game of fetch or a cozy cuddle on the couch, I bring gentleness and enthusiasm to everything I do. Come meet me and let's start our adventure! ❤️

One of the saddest realities of shelter life is when a puppy comes into a shelter, full of energy and curiosity, and before you know it, they have grown into a dog, with a personality that's still developing and a heart that's still yearning for love and attention. This is the harsh reality for Eddie, a young energetic dog who has been waiting for a forever home for far too long. This lovable goofball is a total lovebug and is not averse to giving you a big ol' hug, snuggling up next to you on the couch, and showering you with affection. He's a social butterfly who thrives on human interaction and would love to be part of an active family who can provide him with the exercise and mental stimulation he needs to thrive. This guy needs a home that is patient, understanding, and willing to put in the time to help him become the best version of himself. A home that likes taking long walks, playing fetch, and engaging in playtime activities that will subdue his exuberance for life and channel it into positive outlets. He's a work in progress, but with the right family, he has the potential to become a wonderful companion and loyal friend. Can you provide Eddie with the love, care, and attention he so desperately needs? 🐾Highly recommend crate training when not at home

Hi! My name is Chelsea! The shelter is my current home, but I'm looking for something a little more permanent. I've grown up here and even though I am comfortable with my shelter family, I may be a little shy with new people. I need a proper introduction with people and new animals. After a few days to get used to my new surroundings, I'll blossom into the fun loving dog I am. I like to run and play with my siblings and I always like to greet you with a smile. If you are interested in opening up your heart and home to a shelter dog in need, I could be the one!
