You can fill out an adoption application online on our official website.We are an all-volunteer/foster home-based rescue. Apply to adopt by filling out the online adoption application on our main website dakotadachshundrescue.org Click on Adoption Info under the Navigation bar on the left side of the page. Fill out the form by clicking on the picture of the computer screen with our logo on it. Floki update 1/27/2026: Floki is now almost 7 months young. He is a big sweetie.   We have learned that because of how hard the parvo was on his GI tract he gets diarrhea very easily if fed anything besides the NutriSource All Life Stages food we have him on.Puppy food is too rich for his system, any foods that contain corn give him diarrhea, his diet has to be very specific, no changes in food, no treats.   He will be neutered at 8 months of age. Floki update 1/18/2026 Floki is doing well, growing bigger like a puppy should. We have transitioned him to Purina Pro Plan Sensitive Skin and Stomach and he is doing very well! Solid poops....a call for celebration! Floki is now available for adoption, he is a LOCAL adoption only until he is neutered. Floki is a big sweetie!Floki is a 4 month old St Bernard puppy who came to Dakota Dachshund Rescue as he was diagnosed with Parvo and his owner couldn't afford treatment. Floki was in VEH for treatment, he is now discharged to a foster home. Foster home is taking precautions as Floki will continue to shed the virus for 4 weeks. He needs all of his vaccinations and to be neutered.   My adoption fee helps cover all of my vetting needs such as Parvo treatment,neuter, rabies, DHPPL, Bordetella, neuter, and microchipping.Visit this organization's web site to see any additional information available about this pet.January 27, 2026, 10:43 am
