Let's give Marco the happy ending he deserves! This sweet boy has been through a lot, but with your help, we can make his life more comfortable. We've already come so far with his trust building and training, but now he needs our help to overcome his health issues. Your contribution, no matter how big or small, will bring us one step closer to giving Marco the life he deserves.
This big fella was one of the "Montezuma 23" that we recently helped. Their owner had been rescuing dogs on his own from local shelters, individuals, and off the reservation for 20+ years. Unfortunately, he became ill and suddenly passed. He didn't have a plan in place for the 23 animals he had on his property, so their care fell on a couple of family members that did not have the capability or time to give them the care that they needed.
These family members reached out to us for help, and we jumped in feet first to do what we could to save these guys. We were able to get many of them adopted quickly, some transferred to different rescues, and some went to our foster homes. Now, Marco is the only one left in foster with us.
His foster has put in a ton of work, time, and patience with him. When she first got him, he just wanted to hide in the corner of the barn and would cower when anyone walked near him. After months of trust building, he will now let humans approach him, is tolerating the other dogs better, and will even walk on a leash! Marco is just overall much more relaxed.
Since he's over 10 years old, and has a history completely unknown to anyone, he is facing some health issues now. He desperately needs some dental work done, and a good shave to get rid of the massive mats in his coat to make him more comfortable. He has been prescribed pain meds for his hips, which has brought him tremendous relief.
Our vet has given us an estimate of $1000 to perform his dental and shave, not to mention the cost of the pain meds he's already been on. With your help, we can get Marco as close to a pain free life as possible. Would you consider making a contribution to this senior guy's medical care?
